2000 miles on a V&H slip on, I've got the same problem I had with a Monster on Termignonis, a VFR on a Micron and an H1A on the standard pipes. I find myself getting carried away with the music I'm creating to the point where I'm hurtling into situations a bit quicker than intended. You know ,leaving my down changes a bit late so I go brap, brapping into bends like I was turning into Ballacraine on "the island". Hanging onto the revs as I pass Audis, BMW's, Mercs and the like, then changing up twice to really rub their nose in it. I suppose some of you would consider that normal biking behaviour, but I'm 47! I'm hoping if I make it to maturity that I'll grow out of this juvenile behaviour, maybe any 50+ Buelligans out there could reassure me.

Sorry Dude...There is no way you are going to grow out of this other than to seek psychiatric help and we all know that "REHAB IS FOR LOSERS."

I ran a V&H for a while (a year), but got really sick of the noise it made. It sounded great around town, but sucked on the freeway or quiet windy back roads. About two months ago I switched back to an all stock setup, and just love it!

Even stock, I find that it still has a very deep, throaty sound/rumble to it (esp. decelerating, coming down long hills).

For me it really wasn't a matter of maturity, but rather comfort and avoiding tickets ; )
