Hey all! Here is the deal. I've go an 03 9S with race ecm, race muffler, and race air filter. when I first got the bike I noticed a slight sputter/jerk at speed and a little of a rough idle so I put a set of plugs in it, The stumble went away till it got fully warmed up then when hot it got worse but only at 3k to 4k rpms. So I figured Id put a set of intake seals in it the bike ran awsome for 2 weeks then started doing it again. I then put in a set of plug wires. It went away again for a day or 2. Now it is so bad that it does it all the time except when cold, or with no load (reving in N). Plus after the plug change the idle would hang and "hunt" between 1200 and 1600 rpms. when I put the intake seals in the hang went away but it came back just like the stumble. I started poking around at the harness and checking the throttle cables. The cable were fine from lock to lock and no binding when the grip is twisted. I found that on of the conectors for the voltage reg had a wire rubbing on an oil line and it had rubbed through I fixed that too. no change. I'm at a bit of a loss.......HELP!!!!! I love this bike and I want to get it back to tip top running shape. I have no idea where to go from here could it be a TPS reset? I'm new to Buells so I'm not shure about them. |

The strange thing is that things improved for a little while every time you replaced something... My guess is that the intake seals were not "seated" properly after install but it is only a guess. I would check for leaks again (propane, brake cleaner, etc.) just to eliminate that possibility. As for TPS reset, again, I would get it done so I can reduce the possibilities. Hopefully you have access to ECMSPY so you don't have to pay the dealer for the reset. |

I checked my intake seals yesterday when I fixed the wire in the #77 conector. They were fine same as around the injectors and throttle body. so its not an intake leak...... Im really lost the bike is runnin like total poo right now. Its the worst its ever been, it can be barley ridden. Guess I'm gonna send it to be turned into a chopper........... JK It does make me real mad tho..... My carbed custom chopper with a 103" motor and short straight pipes is more reliable right now and its a real P.O.S LOL. |

Ecmspy...everytime you change something your ECM will "relearn" the bad habits it's created. A tps/afv reset will probably do the trick. If not, you can dump the whole map and start from scratch. |

The connector was not arcing when I looked at it. But one of the wires had been rubbing on the oil line fitting I fixed it and it did nothing. The bike is still acting up but I'm not riding it any more cause there seems to be some kind of nylon fabric sticking out of my tires....(lol) And I'm a little low on fundage to get new rubber. |
