Any one done this on a Uly? I had the right side case replaced because the dealer made a mistake and messed it up . This happened about 6 months ago....now the cam shaft seal is leaking. Is it difficult to replace? |

David- IIRC, it's pretty simple. Drill out the rivets, remove the timing cover, scribe a mark so you can replace the cam timing sensor in the correct position, remove the timing sensor. Get a hook-type seal puller and carefully pull out the existing seal (without scratching the sealing surface on the cam!). Tap the new seal into place using a suitably sized socket, reassemble. Of course you SHOULD refer to the shop manual to be sure! |

Thanks Hughlysses. Thats a big help. I have a few issues with my bike the cam seal is just one of them. I love the bike and I have 20,000 mi. on it. I'm confident I can take care of these issues with some help from my friends. Thanks. |
