The first poster asked a valid question and deserves more of an answer than springy pods. In your opinion. |

Dman Posted on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 - 11:05 am: ..........t I want to do casual track days, hate to think of a slow simple low side on the 1125 frame ... grind. Any frame sliders, etc out there? Thnx. Yes, my opinion is he asked for low side crash protection Any frame sliders, etc out there? Yep thats my opinion. As posted by you there is a difference between a tip over and crash. I think at the track he is likely concerned about crash protection vs tip over dangers at the track, but thats just my opinion of his question. But, may also have questions about door dings from nearby cars at the track? |

Very nice pucks, Pete. My RevA puck and cover didn't survive a low speed RH low-side. The RevB would do much better, but there's still the LH side. How much just for the Ignition Cover puck? Black anodized. Zack |

A little pot stirring, lol, lots of good info, thnx. Yes my focus is on low side slider protection (not so much tip over or end over end, god forbid). Since the R is naked (sexy) without decent plastic protection and a multitude of slider/bar choices I'm a litt;e worried about the frame & protecting it. All other areas look to be as well addressed as other sportbikes, like the case pucks above, spools, barends, etc. Although I've kinda switched my focus on the gearing & the lack of flexibility in changing it, ugh, that's frustrating for me. |

Or you could study the 7 criteria that the Courts have held a manufacturer need to comply with to claim a "safe design". . . . . Or, you could skip all the laborious research and go directly to the Court for your information. (Ha! How's that for a little play on words, which is simultaneously an accurate statement?) |

Hey all, After a weekend of testing at Summit Point, WV at the CCS/ASRA event I have some good and bad news to report on the engine case sliders. First the bad. We installed the sliders on 2 very competitive 1125R's for the weekend. Neither bikes crashed so we still don't have any data to report on their effectiveness. I guess that was good news though for the riders involved. Next the good. For everyone with the Rev A clutch cover, the fit is very good and it seems to help the weeping issue. Should have some long term test results in a few weeks. Unfortunately some more bad. The left side slider is slightly too deep to allow the slider to seat correctly. It requires a small tweak to make the fit perfect which we will try to take care of this week. For those with the Rev B cover, we will offer the left side individually for half price until we are able to manufacture a matching Rev B cover. Pete |

Just a quick update... After a quick procedure on the mill, the sliders are fitting correctly on the left side now. For those whose have already received their sliders, please contact me so that I can exchange them for you. Thanks, Pete |
