Just got an 01 M2L for the wife, haven't even gotten it home yet. 4400 miles, excellent condition, from the original owner. He doesn't have the manual though, it's still in his house in WI. He gave me such a good deal, I'm not gonna pressure him about a book; worst case I can buy a new one, but I thought I'd check here first to see if anyone had one laying around. Hoping for karmic payback since I donated my 99M2 manual a couple months back to a badwebber... I'm not too worried about condition, I just want to have the book for Kim to read and learn, and study the suspension stuff. She's still a new rider (licensed for 3+ years, but only done about 1k miles) and I want her to be able to absorb more than just what spouts out of my mouth (she ignores most of that anyway, LOL). My first bike was the 99M2. It'll be great to have an M2 back in the garage! |

Joe, I 'might' have 1. If I do, & if I can find it, it's yours. I'll let you know for sure after I go digging tonight. |

No luck finding it last night. I'll keep looking for it though. I think it's hiding out in my garage, so will continue the search tonight. |

Let me look around. . . I have two cases of left over service, parts, owners, set up and flat rate fee manuals. I'll dig about this weekend. |

Hey Court, Would you happen to know the flat rate for rebuilding x1 showa forks off the bike. Sorry to high jack your thread Ratbuell. |

No clue but your dealer would have all the manuals as well. |

Court, Phil - thanks for checking for me. I ordered the service manual the other day. Hopefully it'll get inspected today and I can bring it home. She's out of town this weekend (in VT with family)...wish I could figure a way to get it into the living room (split foyer house) with a big ol' bow on it while she's gone |

Joe, Lynn and I are excited for you and Kim about the new bike. I am looking forward to seeing it at Homecoming. Frank |

Frank - we're tryin'. Kim's out of town for the weekend, bike isn't inspected yet (or tagged), and the Al hasn't figured out how to fax the LSL frame sliders to me yet so they're in the mail. *If* she gets enough practice to be comfortable on it, it'll be in the truck with us. Otherwise, it'll be us and the S2. Debating though. Might just bring the M2L as a second anyway, since we *could* ride 2-up if we had to... My goal this year is to get something signed... |

Oh, and Kim can't wait to see you guys. I think we're across the aisle from you at the campsite |

...worst case, does anyone with an '01 M2L manual have the ability to send me the suspension pages? I want to dial it in for her before she starts riding it, so it's as "right" as it can be....needs to be for the Low. Thanks! |

Joe, I am flying solo this year. Lynn's school work takes priority so she will not make it. I will just ride the Uly out. I wanted to get my bike signed last year but the only opportunity I had was at the poster signing and I did not want to bother him with that when people were waiting in line. Of course that did not stop some people. Lynn thought that was in poor taste and I agreed. With it being smaller this year maybe you can get the S2 and M2 signed. Come to think of it when I talked to EB at the race track he was signing bikes. He has a silver pen so the S2T was out of luck. Kind of funny. I got something better than a signature. We are going to have a great time! |

Joe, I don't have an '01 manual, but I've got an owners manual for my '02 M2L. I'd be happy to scan the pages and email to you, or copy and mail.

Joe, can't find it. I asked a buddy if they have theirs & if so to give up the M2L suspension settings. If I hear back, I'll post 'em up here. I'll keep looking, but at this rate, I'll likely find it once you have one and no longer need it. lol |

John - let me check in the parts lookup. If it has the same shocks/forks, that might work. Thanks |

Frank - a silver pen...a CF air cleaner...would have worked for me, lol. I'll probably buy a white one before I head out, at the hobby shop. "Just in case" But I agree, and that's why I didn't drag part of my bike along with me in the book-signing line at the 25th. Besides, that poor man needed to get away from that table. Sorry to hear Lynn won't be coming. Not sure if I'll tell Kim or not - she may decide against going! Oh, and I haven't had a chance to put hands on 'em, but all your stuff is here and I'll bring it with me to HC. So...is it hijacking if it's my own thread? Or just a 'route recalculation'? LOL |

John - the parts pages show the same fork internals, and the same shock, for the '01 M2 "with low seat" and the '02 M2L. If you get a chance to scan the pages that'd be awesome |

Joe, I've got the suspension adjustment pages scanned and ready to email to you. I don't have your email anymore. Can you PM the email address you want them sent to? |
