Bart, The regulator appears okay, clean and solidly mounted. Haven't checked stator, no multitool. If your not busy this afternoon, I will supply the beer. Call me, Art..... |

Artful, multitool? You mean a digital multimeter? I have a couple of them, if you need one I can drop one by. All you need to do is disconnect the connectors and measure the resistance of both} the stator/alternator, and then the regulator. The readings are listed in your manual. If you don't have a manual, i can find the specs here on the badweb for you. remember I mentioned to double check the connectors where they come out by your starter, that is the connector for your Stator. Buells have been known to rub through the insulation at this point, causing a short. look closely! Let me know if you need a meter !!! |

Hey Guys, it's Charles in Yuma. A little off the Buell subject, do any of you have a volks engine you're not doing anything with??? I've got a nearly completed project I need to finish... Running or not, I'll take it off your hands. I'm tinkering on a Manx. Please ask around for me. I'm poor = (Military). Thanks guys, Charles |

If it matters, I'm building and selling the Manx for $$$ to buy a Buell X-1! Charles |

Don't waste your money on an X1, get an S1W. Carburated is the way to go, that FI causes too many problems and you need special equipment to get it checked. Unless of course, you want to buy AL's X1, then it's OK.

LOL, I agree. I'm looking to buy a carbed model. However, after seeing the tail section available from R & R, for the M-2, I'm thinking I'll go that route. The kit is geared for those who liked the S-1, thus the re-styled tailsecton, but have or want a newer bike... I'm all for it: http://www.r-r-customizing.de/seiten/shop%20eng/index.html Go to rearfender on the menu at left. Either way, at 6'4", the XB's are just too small for me! Charles P.S.- They widen rims too! I want a fattie! edited by charlieboy6649 on February 14, 2004 edited by charlieboy6649 on February 14, 2004 |

Hey Bart, Better git to bed early tonight so you can keep your balance tomorrow. You'll have to get up early to make it over to "Sams" B4 noon.hehehe!! Any idea where to buy Disc brakes for the X1? Went to Harley today but the only thing they carry for Buells, are spark plugs. We should start a Buell parts house in town. It would'nt cost that much to keep a little inventory to keep the locals up and running! Have you heard from M1combat yet? Hope he makes it.Maybe Ilikehotchicks got those babes on film last night that he ran into on Speedway.. that would make for some good lunch viewing! |

Balance hell, I got me a big 'ol beer mug full of Canadien Mist my friend. That'll make me FEEL like I'm balanced. Shit, after riding that S2 all week, the S1 feels weird. I just like the way that S2 lays ya down in a tuck. What are ya lookin' at brakes for? yours not stopping you good enough? Just use the engine to slow ya down, it'll run yer nuts right up into that tank if your not careful! Maybe Ben will be BRINGING those chicks he met last night with him! Now that would be some good lunch... I'll see y'all at lunch. Dress warm, it will be cold at the top.

Bart, If you can bring by a meter whenever that would be cool. If ya got one of those code readers maybe that would tell us what is wrong. Going out to look at the bike again, have a good ride, ride safe. Art..... |

Well i think we had about 11 or 12 people total 5 were non buell bikes the rest we x1's s1's and xb's. The ride was awesome except for a couple problems. On the way up the mountian my rear end got a little lose when i hit some sand. Couple of those types of things; I was able to find my rev limiter on a straight rode which was around a little less then 130; I had to catch up to bart and the others. On the way back we went though gates pass and one of my buddies on a cbr600 hit gravel around a bend and lost it into some cactus and rocks. His bike has mostly cosmetic dmg's although leaking radiator and busted lights. Thankfully some of the guys brought a first aid kit and we bandaged up the gash in his knee. Other then that the ride was awesome and the weather was perfect! here are some of the pics i shot. wait for them to load the site is kind of slow... http://members.tccoa.com/rjpeters/buellride21504/ ben |
