I'm not going to give you guys exact numbers but we just installed the new Buell Race pipes on our bikes ( real pain to install too). But worth the 20hp gain... yes I said 20hp!!! We could not believe it ourselves. Very close to 140 rhp!! Good job Buell and who ever made that pipe!!! |

That's not 140 rhp with just bolting it on is it? Didn't you have to put it on a dyno and remap it? |

>>>>Good job Buell and who ever made that pipe!!! They'll be pleased to hear that! A lot of folks worked very hard to "get it right". We struggled to get an early one to Australia for a special project and, even among the most faithful, the early results were amazing. |

That is with some dyno work but not much. We only had to dump alot more fuel at it. Now wheres that race air filter??? |

Wow! That is truly a piece of art. 20bhp - That's Impressive. I bet it went up more than "20db" though!!! What Turbo System does it plumb to? |

The more I see of that exhaust system, the more I realize; someone understands a whole lot more about fluid dynamics than I could ever hope to. That is cool. G |

The Buell race pipe had its theoretical dimensions mapped by the same engineer who has designed the basic schematics for all recent Buell exhaust systems, including production ones. The design was finished by one of Buell's top designers, and it's manufactured to that CAD model by a small shop that does mostly race car work. The aftermarket is rapidly catching up; there should be at least two exhausts from pipe manufacturers you've heard of that match or exceed the Buell pipe's performance. They both benchmarked the Buell pipe during their development process. |

Man that thing looks delicious. It's $$$ though, I think above 1500 or so. Doesn't stop me from wanting though. |

Man I would love to have that thing on my bike. But I still commute to work a dew times a week. plus the $1800 tag puts a damper on things. |

20HP for $1800? Come on, that's a great value. |

If I am correct, the fellow who makes those pipes is an artist with a welding rig and is has done a lot of very special work for Buell. He made all the early frames. |

$1800 is about average for a tuned exhaust SYSTEM. Considering the limited numbers of 1125 racers, that is a pretty excellent price. I paid that much for my Beson 5 years ago... a much simpler system. |

No doubt about the system being first class. That's why I would love to have one. My problem is i am not a racer, just a serious track day junkie. Plus I would have a hard time shelling out the money. I have been thinking about the HMF pipe but I can't get past this system. Does anybody know how to get around the race license thing? |

About the only way to "get around" the license thing is to have to buy aftermarket. A HD/Buell dealer that sold to a non-licensed person would be talking to lawyers. The folks like Twinmotorcycles (sponsors here, sold by Grandstand Designs) - are coming up with a full system - not Just their Torquehammer slip-on but a full system. |

Slaughter, Do you know of anyone else that is making an under the bike system? That is what I prefer. I am on the waiting list for the Drummer but I imagine I am pretty far down the line. But I do like the HMF can. I am planning on have a full set of fairings and doing some WERA races at some point. So what ever I do I need the exhaust to fit in the belly pan. |

There are a couple in the works but the only one I know of personally is the Twinmotorcycles exhaust. You can email Dris directly through Twin Motorcycles website or - he's Easyrider here or email Pete and see if there's anything coming into the US yet. Grandstand Designs is likely going to be the US importer. Pete is Xbcrazy |

Buellsrule is alluding to a pipe around the corner that makes more power and isn't obnoxiously loud. Gasp! Can't wait to see the product.! |

JMR, I just got an email from Kevin today saying that I am next on the list. I haven't heard back from him about a price yet. If you don't mind me asking what is the basic slip-on going for? |

"does anyone have pictures of where the two pipes meet at the mid pipe." I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you are talking about the Buell race exhaust these pictures might help. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/158 664/450519.html?1240365535 G |
