I have the valencia orange plastics and want to change the decals from gray to the bright orange or amber I guess it is. How hard is it to get them off the tank? Where can I get some new decals? thanks |

I always thought it would be cool to have a sign shop cut white vinyl decals out in reverse to stick on the underside of a translucent airbox. It would be subtle and keep the airbox smooth. Something to consider. |

I took a set off. It wasn't difficult, but they were destroyed, not reusable. I used a plastic putty/drywall blade to peel them loose. Then I used GooGone to remove the leftover adhesive. You should be able to get new decals from a Buell dealer. |

1.) Hair dryer- heat up the decals and glue, so that it's softer. 2.) Bit of fishing line- hook it under the edge a saw back and forth, just enough to get the edge up. You could saw it all the way off, but it smears and makes a mess of the glue. 3.) Pair of pliers- grap the uplifted corner and peel the decal off. Leaves a minimal amount of glue. 4.) WD40- spray on remaining glue, let sit 5 minutes, rub with soft rag. Comes right off. 5.) Wash off WD40 with dish detergent or some other grease-cutting soap before reapplying new decals. Easy as pie! ~SM |

Hey Swordsman...... Where's you get those Pegasus decals from? I think those would look good on my carbon fiber airbox cover. |

When I pulled mine of it was the dead of winter. I used a putty knife to lift one side and pulled really hard. The letters popped right off with hardly any sticky residue left over. The decals were reuseable afterwards, ended up giving them to a fellow BadWeBber. Maybe sticking it in the freezer for a while will work the same. Dunno.......... |

Hold a hairdryer about 6 inches away from the decal and heat gently. They peel off real easy. |
