Hello I am new to the Uly boards and just purchased a 2006 Buell Uly as well as my first road bike. I wanted to know if there is a good performance plug out there that anyone can recommend. Thanks Thanks for the input. I bought a set of the stock plugs but decided to get the NGK's. I have used NGK's in all my dirt bikes and quads and they work great and with there only being 2 the cost is not that bad. Got them through Autozone and will be picking them up tomorrow. After getting the air filter cover off it looks as though I will be getting one of them too. Does any one run the K&N or just the normal air filter. I have run K&N but have a tendency to add too much oil to them and have burned out two Mass Air Flow sensors in two vehicles that I use to own so I am a little leary about getting one for the Uly. I had no issues with the stock plugs. However, I would change them out unless you know for certain they were changed just before you got the bike. Some squids blip the throttle on cold starts...on a Uly thats a direct pathway to a fouled plug. I've run the Irridiums from American Sport Bike - 10K and no problems. Don't know that they are "better" but may last longer. Have fun with the new Uly - j |

I have a set of the NKG's but haven't put them in yet. Not sure if the plug's will make a diff. but figure they can't hurt and it's only two of then so why not. |

OEM plugs have problems but have not herd any fouling problems with NGK. I have had NGK for 8K miles and not problems and easy starts. Chas |

Picked up the NGK plugs today put them in and did noticed a little bit of a difference. I need to get a new air filter as well but have to wait till the shop is open tomorrow. The Uly seems to have a what I would call a surge right around 30 to 40 mph and at the real low end while just putting around. The service dept. at my local store suggested the plugs first and if that did not do it then to bring it in. Looks as though I will be dropping it off tomorrow. |

iridium plugs work great mine had 20k when i changed them and i could hardly difference the new from the used ones, next time i'll just have them looked at and not changed. k&n air filter is the best option and having to clean it, well i'd say minimum every 30k unless you do a lot of off road |

iridium plugs work great mine had 20k So did mine, until I went to check them, and found out the dealer put the OEM plugs back in, along with pitching my Magnecor wires in favor of the stockers. |

Went in to the dealer and it seams as though they don't want to work on the bike because of the mods on it. It has an aftermarket pipe with the guts out of it. The guy I got it from use to own a muffler shop and knows alot about exhaust systems. It also has a Dobeck Performance TFI kit installed. I need to do some tweeking of the TFI as well as I have a K&N on order. |
