I know that race maps can be loaded onto any ECM but I'm just curious.. when I bought my 2000 X1 it came with a "race ecm" which has a sticker on it that says "race use only". looks like the stickers that you print with a p-touch. My 2002 X1 also came with a race ECM but this one has "race use only" stamped onto it and looks much more like something that would come from the factory. I'm just wondering if the the previous owner of the 2000 X1 sold me a tall tale and a BS sticker on the ECM. | ||

I think this debate has been here before, well not debate but discussion. If I remember correctly some did use stickers. Mine is stamped and I probably got it sometime in 2000 or 01. If the search function is back up you might find something there or ask Court about it. Good luck. | ||

I have had two race ECM's. One from an S3 and one for an XB12 and both had the print as shown in the above photo. | ||

I too have a race ecm with the label maker label on it. I bought it directly from a dealer so i assumed it was legit. | ||

Mine has the label maker label on it also build date was Feb 09. So I am guessing the newer ones have it instead of the stamp. | ||

Mine is painted on. I bought it from the dealer already with a loud pipe, gutted airbox and a race ECM. It was the "rented mule" demo  |
