I went out for a short ride today through some back roads here in KY Highway 44 up the hill if your familiar with the area. Im having a little fun picking a little speed up going through the turns, i had a guy on a honda 1000RR run up behind me on the straight away before it starts to go back down. Came out of no where first set of turns comes up and i guess he deided he wanted to show off or something so in the turn he cuts in below me and under estimates the turn so startes going wide and forces me to go wider to the edge of the road in the turn almost takes both of us out. then starts to try and take off after that so of course im pissed and adrenaline rushing. So i take off after him into the next series of turns get ahead of him in the turns again and try to make him pull over for a good ass kicking but as soon as it opens up for the nice long straight section he gets by me and i dont have a chance of keeping up so i let it go for now. He better hope i dont catch him parked somewhere or getting fuel sometime. |

When I encounter riders like that I just let them go. It's hard not to want to retaliate against another rider who almost caused you to go down, glad it turned out ok. The way I look at it is sooner or later an EMT or a coroner will take care of them. |

That's right. He obviously was trying to showoff but didn't have the ability to handle the situation. Unfortunately the innocent person almost had to pay for the showoff's stupidity. Karma will catch up to him one day and as Jramsey said it will be dressed as an EMT or Coroner. (Message edited by scarecrow on May 02, 2009) |

James Ramsey has it right! When something like that happens, just let it go. These things have a way of taking care of themselves without our intervention. Besides, if we try to deal with these jerks by acting like them, they will just bring us down to their level and then beat us with experience. |

He knows he screwed up. Especially after you had him and he needed to zip off on the straight. Once your temper settles you'll be able to yell at him or tell him just what a bonehead move he pulled when you do run into each other at the fill up or grocery store. Glad you didn't crash. It can be hard to not panic when you're under pressure and keep your bike on the road, good job. |

Get a license plate number? You could file a formal complaint, might make him think twice about pulling a bonehead stunt like that again! |

That really sucks. If it is any consolation most of the guys I've known who ride like that aren't riding anymore...went down, got too many tickets, or frightened themselves enough to give it up. |

It just proves who really (was) the best rider! Obviously you are the superior rider because you saved both your a@#'s just remember that. You could have been spooked and crashed but you didn't. One time i was waved into a very nasty corner by some squid like him and i almost crashed out, luckily i didn't spook and hit the brakes, I just used the bike as much as i could. Nice riding and watch out for the punk kids on all the new jap bikes. |

Appreaciate all the input and fellowship. Ive calmed down and just let it go. Happy just to end it like it did and have a chance to ride another day. |
