I just installed my HMF slip on last night. I had the Jardine setup already. Here is my comparo of both pipes. Jardine was alot easier to install...HMF i needed a second hand. Also seems like you have more adjustment so you can tuck it in nice and tight. Jardine had a nice sound but the HMF is so much deeper IMO and sounds alot better a couple people said it sounded like a Duc last night when i stopped in hooters. Riding impressions with the jardine i felt a little lag in the lower RPM's the HMF is still to early call yet i only put on 30 miles so far so will update later. So far i like the HMF better....looks better and the can seems to be better quality i had mine powder coated black and the sound is excellent...it was $435 shipped. I will keep this exhaust till i deploy then i will sit back and hopefully see the aftermarket stuff blow up in the next year while im deployed and decide from there. |

^Good to know. Thanks! Mine should be in next week. Once I get it on I will be fabing a chin spoiler which I think it badly needs. (or maybe I am still used to the great looks of my XB12R) Since I need an extra hand, who wants to help when it arrives? Sci |

Sci, you know I will be the one turning the wrenches... I'll be home that week to help and I cleaned up my garage last night and now the tools look lonely. BTW, Does this mean I get to play with Fiberglass or Carbon Fiber for your chin spoiler? |

Schwerm, do you have any pics? Any ground scraping with the HMF? How about volume? |

I dont have any pics yet its crappy out today. I think ground scraping would be alot less probable then the Jardine...this has a bit more adjustment and seems to tuck up alot nicer. As for volume it is loud but very deep. I think there are a few vids on youtube. |

Its the elliptical powder coated in black if you search on youtube there is a vid on there of the exact same setup you get from motoworld. You can order directly from HMF or motoworldonline....motoworld being the cheaper route. Edit: Here is the link to the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uamXbA4U8mg |

They come in Silver, Candy Blue, and Black. I have Black elliptical as you can see from my video above. I have yet to see someone with the silver, but I have seen the blue on a white 1125R and it looks sick. I don't think it would look right on the Black/Blue. |

thats basicly what i wanted to know. if that style that i see all the time was the "slip on" or the "elliptical" over all i like this one and the looks. but i do like the looks of the CF jardine also. but if this one has better power or sounds better i think ill go with this one. i know you said your only put 30 miles on it so you cant tell yet. let me/us know what you think asap when you get some more miles on it. also does it seam like this one is made any more "cheaply" vs the jardine? |

Rockstar The hmf seems to be better construction the mounting bracket more adjustment and sturdy and the can seems very well built and apperance is alot better IMO. There was no stumble/lag i could feel last night while riding just didnt get it out to really open it up to get a overall good feel yet. I deff. would buy the HMF over the Jardine after owning both. My buddy stopped by today and commented on how much he liked the fit and finish better and overall appearance alot better. Of course the nice deep tone is what he liked the most. I don't have anything yet as I returned the pro-tune(canceled order) after reading the reviews from the other post. Power Commander said they are coming out with one in a few weeks, I plan on getting that one. But for now the bike runs fine for day to day use. Oh in one more note if it only took you 30 minutes, I want your mechanic skills cause it took me over 2 hours, but then again I am a perfectionist |

Rockstar, Xb9 (Dave) is local to us. He's doing some great work with the ecm on these things. If you're going to the Buell event at Western Reserve, You'll meet him. |

i got in about 90 miles today in between the rains. Bike pulls hard front tire feels lighter. Doesn't feel like this pipe has any low end loss/stumble like the jardine at least that i could feel a dyno will tell the real story...i think there is alot more potential with this setup yet with more tweaking and tuning/ i'm glad i have dave's program. Overall im happy with the setup. (Message edited by bigschwerm on May 02, 2009) |

Hey Bigschwerm: Just curious --- when you used the Jardine, did you also have the Pro-Tune 3 card? Makes no difference to purchase decision now; I already bought the Jardine and the card, I'm just curious. |

I ran the jardine with no tuner at first, then hooked up a remus powerizer and then i ran it for a little while with some tweaking from dave's program. Still was a little low end stumble nothing terrible but i could notice it...im sure with a good dyno tune or the Pro-Tune 3 card it would easily correct the issue. Im sure if i put this exhaust on the dyno there is alot of tuning that needs to be done also to get its full potential Rockstarblast1 your best bet is to pm xb9 or contact him through his website...if you need his email or anything just let me know. |

Things that make you say "hmmmmm". Now I'm wondering if this will work or not. I have the Jardine SS/CF pipe, just don't care for the "euro" style can. 2" inlet, which is the same size as the Jardine pipe. Hmmmmmmmm.......
