The first track day of the year was awesome. The ohio weather was great being in the mid 80s's and sunny. My only mods during the winter were the American Sport Bike billet footpegs. Which worked awesome. I switched tires to Bridgestone 016's. They worked great all day. I set the pressure at 30 psi in the front and rear and never touched them the rest of the day. They felt planted the entire time and didn't slide around at all. Then the biggie. We had Jason from The Department of Suspension their and he would set up your bike up for $50. I had problems all last year with the bike not wanting to stay leaned over while on the throttle and it just felt heavy. Come to find out the front end was way high and the rear way low. So I took it easy after Jason adjusted it for the first session but I felt a huge change. The bike felt like it dropped 50 pounds. The next session out I started riding the bike like I had been and I was able to start riding harder and harder and still felt very comfortable. I was able to pick people off one by one and was even able to pass a few liter bikes with good riders. I even was able to get such a good run out of the keyhole that I touched the rev limiter in 5th gear on the back straight. This bike is awesome. This was my sixth track day with the 1125 and by far was the best. What a huge difference the suspension changes made. I was amazed. I can't wait to go again next month. |

That sounds great, White! I am looking towards the 016s as my next tire and I'm glad to hear they are working so well. Would it be too much trouble to ask you where your suspension settings ended up? Did he raise the forks in the triple clamps? Thank you in advance. John |
