pulled the inner airbox off yesterday. sound is unGodly! also seems to rev quicker (prolly just the noise)BUT... this is only 9 times out of 10...on the tenth takeoff , the bike stumbles badly and /or occasionally stalls. normal? '09 r, 255 miles

its new to me.
My inner airbox removal results were better throttle response. seem to pull stronger without hesitation. very noticable at highway speed.

but ive knew tried the ten take off thing. is this just like taking off from a stop sign or is this fast like drag racing take offs. i know ur not drag racing but just trying to get an idea on whats happening

Bott,

Seems like a lot of the 1125s do this during the break in and up to about 2000 to 5000 miles. Motor is still tight. Mine didn't stop that until I hit the 2000 mile mark + -.

At about that time the motor seemed to gain quite a bit of snap and did it again at 2500 miles.

Bott, I had the same problem. My personal opinion is that it's related to the fueling of the bike. these thins run lean out of the box. I did some basic tuning to richen things up a bit and that problem is history.

Mine that is an 08 does it. If I blip the throttle sometimes it will back fire thru the throttle bodies or stall out.

Just break in tightness. It'll get better as the odometer rolls.

If you haven't pulled it yet, it's the 'noid. Mine would do that BAD... Idling up to a stop, or stopped, blip the throttle and poof...

Hasn't happened once since the solenoidectomy.

why are you guys blipping the throttle? the only time you do that is when down shifting on a bike(riding hard or racing) without a slipper clutch.
