well the only reason i did this is because my old backpack had a pouch on the shoulder for my opener and my new icon backpack doesn't so its a pain to get off the bike take the bag off and dig for my opener or keys so here was my solution i took apart my opener and soldered onto the two "activation points" so i could just hit a button on my dash and the garage would open

A few years ago I bought a Traidan door opener. It works off of your high beams. Turn on high beam about a block away and my door opened. If you would need to ride with your high beams on the unit would shut off in about a min. I had the unit mounted on my Uly and loved it. No more looking which jacket my remote was in. When I bought my 1125R I switched the remote to the 1125R and could never get it working again. The unit sill transmits a signal strong enough to stop any other remote but I can't get my door opener to recognize it. The Traidan Company is now out of business. Now I'm back to searching for my remote in the last jacket I rode in. The unit worked off of 12 volts also. Never had to change batteries. (Message edited by Two_Buells on May 02, 2009) |

Hey 07xb --- you get handcuffed much while riding? How did I recognize a handcuff key? Takes one to know one, I guess . . . |

Get yer flame-throwers ready...but HD markets a high-beam powered garage door opener. 91558-01A, 129.95 list. It's pretty slick, and works off a high-beam toggle (hi/lo/hi) instead of just turning the hi beams on. |

Yea I saw something like that at cyclegear, but why pay $130 for something I can do myself, and I could have put it on the highbeam switch with a relay but this way the "mod" doesn't affect any wiring, it's completely standalone for warranty sake - besides the 1 hole in a piece of plastic It works for me :-) |
