I've been riding my bike for about a year no problems, when I pulled into the parking lot after lunch today it just died and won't restart. The starter turns the engine over it just doesn't fire, The reserve tripmeter just kicked in and shows .4 miles, I'm wondering if I have some sort of problem involving the reserve tank. Anyone seen anything like this? |

does filling it up solve the problem? does your fuel pump cycle when you turn the bike on? when you turn the bike on you should hear the pump cycle for a few seconds. also the check engine light should light up for about five seconds then go out. if neither happens i would check the fuel pump. i haven't heard anything about sending units going bad but i wouldn't rule it out. of course if you gas it up and it starts just fine then that probably is the issue. |

Hopefully, it's a kill-switch incident. If not, when you write, "doesn't fire"; is this literally: no spark at plug(s)? |

if it was a bad kill switch the starting system would also be disabled. if you have no spark and the engine turns over check the ignition system itself. |
