you aren't one of those are you? I posted uncorrected because I wanted power that day, it was such a good day that SAE was taking out 7% a correction factor of .93. I always use SAE and smoothing 5. Just wanted to see what it made in that situation.

Smoothing 5 is used one for clarity, especially on a lighter bike that is more prone to have less traction on the drum. Secondly, using a lower smoothing factor can aid in showing larger numbers because of the more rough graph. If I was looking for a mechanical problem I would use less smoothing to detect the problem easier, but my bike runs great.

one of what lol....just like to get on here and get some people riled up! most do not know much...BUT seems like you know what your talking about which is awesome thats rare anymore these days lol....and I will agree with you one the smoothing factor! most of the time the lower it will make a little more with the jagged little spikes lol....I actually just got done tuning a xb12r....I actually had to strap the rear of the bike down because the tire would spin on the drum....the one i tuned i believe made 93 hp and 81 ft lbs? dont quote me on that lol think those gas fumes got to me=) ....(that was 5th gear unloaded) also from what i have been taught (looking for your opinion on this) you will make the most power with a *engine* temp. of somewhere around 75-80 degrees celcius but with a hot powertrain (trans primary fluid)....what A/F did you tune to to get those numbers?

typically I find that on pump gas 13-13.2 will produce the most power. with leaded fuel a little richer seems to be the way to go. what are you using to tune the buells

well a few years back we tried to tune my xb9 with a force pipe race ecm and KN with a techlusion dfo box....HA if that wasnt a joke needless to say the pipe came off a week later....just got done tuning a 08 with the Twin Tec system(first buell we have tuned at the shop...atleast fuel injected)we have built a handful of dragbikes but they were all carbed...pretty cool still getting hang of the twin tec i'm mainly use to a super tuner, race tuner, or power commander...I really just wish Harley and Buell would get together and make a super tuner version for the buell!

that isn't going to happen. you are dealing with a very basics EFI system. In the future you should look into using Direct link, ECMspy, or the race license only buell race ECM($850. I have tuned Buells with the TFI(yes what a joke), and all of the above tuners. With the ECMspy there is really no limit to uses in the right hands. I saw that you said the twin tec limits fuel changes, well if you ever make real power with a FI buell that won't work. Just suggestions from one to another.

I agree I want to try ecm spy next either on my buddies buell or when I get another one....For what he has (stock xb12 with slip on and KN) I think this system will be fine for him....Which do you prefer direct link or ecm spy? I know ecm spy is cheaper to run lol.......What about the race license only buell race ecm???Have never heard anything about that until now!

After using all of them I would recommend the ECMspy. It doesn't allow you to make any money on parts, but it allows you to give the customer a better finished product. As far as the buell racing ECM, I doubt you will ever run into it, because only racers would have it and a lot of them are now using the spy.
