So, I have a neat little story: I was sitting on my '06 XB12Ss yesterday, idling while I put my gloves on. I noticed smoke coming from the front left of the bike. I immediately shut it down and put the little fire out. The culprit? My heated grip power wire had rubbed against the frame until it was bare and shorted out. The damage? Luckily not much. The heated grip wire is toast, of course. Unfortunately I had chosen to run the heated grip wire along the throttle cable, so, when it burned, so did my cables. I managed to get it to work for the ride home (40 miles). Was an interesting ride! So...anyone know of anyone that actually has these in stock? I've been calling around all day and emailing site sponsors. No luck yet. Guess my weekend's shot... |

The Buell heated grips? I highly doubt you will find anyone with the grip in stock. You can order the replacement grip, N0050.5AA HAND GRIP, LH, HEATED Retail Price:$70.40 http://www.froggypwns.com/buellpdfs/Buell_Heated_H and_Grip_Kit_INSTRUCTIONS.pdf |

When you fix it, add a properly sized circuit breaker...that will protect the circuit without the worry of blowing a fuse. |

Try Tripp at Precision, they are a sponsor. He was telling me the other day that he is trying to stock all of those types of parts. He may have the cables. |

The wire was on a relay, but I should've put a fuse on it. Live and learn, I guess. And I found the parts I need at Buell of Frederick, a site sponsor. Very very helpful guys. |
