I've owned this bike for about a year. When I bought it I didn't seem to notice anything wrong when shifing. After riding it around for a couple weeks I noticed I'd hit neutral a lot when accelerating and shifting between 1 and 2. Adjusted clutch and primary everywhich way from tuesday. Nothing worked. I confirmed my hunch that something wasn't right after riding other xb's. I essentially just grinned and beared it over the last year and learned to shift with a swift kick up. Even then it'd crunch and hit neutral every so often. Well, I finally fixed the problem. I scored a used engine off of ebay for 650 shipped to my doorstep! I still don't know how I ended up with that great of a deal. Now I'm going to rebuild the old engine and hopefully find the problem inside the cases. Being that I have it torn down I'm going to have a lil fun with it. Porting, xb9 pistons, oil pump gear, etc... |
