Just getting the damper to fit on the 1125r is a job... it's a very tight, difficult fit that requires some cable re-routing and removing one of the cable retainers. | ||

I thing the rotary GPR selled on American Sport Bike doesn't fit on the CR: in fact the Cr does not have a triple clamp like the R. Or you mean another one? | ||

Oh, my damper isn't for sale. Ridden hard, the 1125r *needs* a damper, in my opinion. Under hard acceleration, it will skip the front tire, and unless you have some sort of angle's light touch (which is impossible on the 1125r because of the outrageously stiff throttle springs, anyway), you are going to have the bar shaking quite a bit. I realize this is a 'skills' and confidence issue, not a bike one, but until I had the damper, I had some confidence issues with the enormous amount of front end activity the bike would generate under liberal throttle application. With the damper installed, I'm presently happy as a clam absolutely wringing the 1125r out -- in second and 3rd gear only  -- at my local track. I think she should ship with this damper already installed. I use it just a few clicks in, but it's a whole world of difference. The front end is so much more stable and sorted. I put one on my XB as well, but I am less keen on it. Of course, the XB doesn't see the same amount of track time my 1125r does, and I ride it on the street more where a damper is mildly (low speed) obtrusive. I liked it a lot in Arkansas a month ago though... really sorted out the high speed stuff on squirly, unpredictable pavement sections. Buells are amazing bikes to have such agressive geometry to not *require* dampers. That said, I think they are better bikes with them installed. | ||

Jdugger and I agree; the R should ship with the GPR installed, and I've written to BMC in this regard. Mine is set at 10, as I know some other posters are. VERY easy to install and to adjust while on the move even at freeway speeds (which we have here on country roads, too). Also adds a welcome bit of 'bling' to the bike (mine's blue to complement the white/blue colour scheme of my 09). | ||

well since the gpr mounts through the steering head. then theres a arm that mounts to the one of the air box covers. maybe it doesnt fit the cr. i dont know. | ||

I have the GPR on my 1125R. It is a godsend. They should have a damper stock as far as I am concerned. The GPR will NOT work on a CR. I am trying to find a solution for a customer who just bought a CR. Thanks guys | ||

I was right, the GPR, neither the "classical" Ohlins, does not fit to the CR. And in my opinion it's a little difficult to put a damper on the CR. Not a lot of space and most important I can't imagine where to mount it on the bike's frame! Maybe the only way is to build a little "clip on style" plate, and mount it on the original riser. And then on it the rotary gpr, wich has an arm that mounts on the air box, as remembered. But if so, then I wouldn't see the beautiful CR logo on the riser! | ||

I just mounted my Ohlins unit on my 1125r two days ago and it really wasn't a difficult task. Took 2.5 hours. Whoever mounted that one pictured above put the fork clamp on backwards. The Ohlins damper is awesome and has really does a great job keeping the front end under control. When is comes to dampers and suspension Ohlins is the best! | ||

ahh i had a feeling that i remembered the traditional riser on the cr which would hinder the use. got it. | ||

here is one on the CR  but I think it fits only without original lamp. This one is from the italian Roadster Cup 2009, in Vallelunga near Roma. A competiton for naked bikes, the CR placed 4th. |
