I am relatively new to the Buell world and have just bought a 2001 X1(Love it!). I recently purchased the cable and downloaded ECMspy. The only problem I am having is locating the diag connector. I've been on this site before and have been reading about the connector locations and from what my manual says, it should be under the seat beside the fuse box. I've also read some posts of people finding it at the front/right near the gauges. Unfortunately its not there. Someone also posted finding it under the gas tank. I haven't physically taken it off, but I had a good look with a flashlight and couldn't see it. Anyone got any ideas?

'99-'00 right side of steering head.
'01-'02 under the seat.

On my '01 X-1, it is under the seat on the left side, behind the fuse box and in front of the tail light. A grey, 4 pin connector with a black plug. Don't lose the plug. It may be tucked up under the seat rail on that side. Mine had a velcro patch on the undertray there to keep it up out of the way.

FOUND IT!!!
Found the velcro patch on the undertray that Akbuell mentioned, but no connector. Decided to remove the undertray completely and there it was, tucked into the frame of the rear tail section. With the undertray installed, it was completely hidden. Now I can finally do my TPS reset! Thank you to all that responded.

Looks like the plug was never used. With ECMSPY you can transform the behavior of your stock bike for better. Just make baby steps and save your last changes.
