It all started over a week ago, wife talked me into getting a vasectomy. I went to have the procedure done and the Doc couldn't finish, so I had to go back this past Thursday for the SECOND HALF. So I'm laying around resting up. I'm logged on drooling over everyone's bikes and the fun their having. My Blast is great, but let's get real, I wanted a bigger bike now. So I'm milking it and I'm laying around on Friday. I go to Buell and show the wife the promotion, O down Free gas for a year. I say hey baby, whatcha think. Sarcastically she says if they'll approve me I could have whatever I wanted. I look around and decide to call Chosa's in the Phoenix area. They took my info and about an hour later they call me back and ask me when I want to pick my bike up. My wife of course drops a load and I'm grinnin from ear to ear. Of course she throws in another demand, well I want to trade the Astro in and get a new Kia Sedona and then makes the little comment that allowing me to get a new bike is the least she could do for me, said she felt it would be giving me some of the manhood back that I lost. "Serious Honey?" Yes, I'm serious, I'll play on her sympathy. Did I say how much I Love this woman? So, Saturday morning sore balls and all we head up to Phoenix. I get my new bike, I take it nice and slow varying speed and rpm and make my way over to the Kia dealership, about 35 miles away. Get to the dealership and they take forever, but we finally leave their around 9 p.m. or so. Now, she's following me and I'm in the process of breaking my bike in, had only 3 or 5 miles when I got it and I'm behaving being a good boy breaking it in. Oh yeah, did I not say I came from Yuma, and from the Buell dealership driving back home it's about 200 miles, so I have to be a good boy and take it easy the entire way back. Only reason the wife didn't complain too much is because she got a new Van. Mothers Day was not only good for her, but was good for me also. Oh yeah, riding that far 3 days after having a second vasectomy within a week ain't fun. I will say this, my grin factor on a scale of 10 was a 20, especially when all the salesmen at the Kia dealership, and I mean ALL of them, were drooling over my new 12R. One guy asked me if he could ride it, told him if he got my Van payments knocked down another 50, sure, poor guy was disappointed, but they were staring and listening as I drove away. Hey the pain of riding 200 miles going 35-55 mph for 200 miles with sore balls was worth it. ERIC I LOVE YOU AND MY NEW XB12R, I need to go cry now, and ice the old boys, then GO FOR ANOTHER RIDE, WOOO HOOOO.

Congrats!!! Glad to see you had the opportunity to step up to an XB. I'm sure the pain will subside as the grin factor gets bigger, and bigger. You and the tyke make a good pair, I wish I could have started on such a big bike. Hope to see you up here in the future for some rides. SEMPER FI!!!

Did they set the suspension before they gave it to you? Two T27's under the seat and you can check. The setup will be in the manual based on your weight. |

No, told me to break it in then adjust, give it time to work the suspension in some more. It feels good right now. I'll look at it. In the process of reading the manual right now. I'm icin em, they swole up big time on me. It was worth it. Hope I'll be up to it this weekend. edited by southernmarine on May 09, 2004 |

I heard that proper application of lips can reduce the swelling. Tell the wife. It works on almost ALL wounds...

"I heard that proper application of lips can reduce the swelling. Tell the wife. It works on almost ALL wounds... " So does her letting me buy the 12R. They may have swole up, but I think it's because they're so damn happy. I swear I'm grinnin in my sleep. I rode my bike to work and a few other places today, little sore, no problem. I got in the van to carry my oldest to his Band Concert, I swore my balls were protesting, screaming with pain. Seriously, It hurt me more to drive that Van today than it did for me to ride my Bike. Gotta be that my boys are just swolen with pride. |
