Hi there, I should be moving to Cincinnati (OH) in April (Visa pending) so I'll try to get myself a XB9S or XB12S and I'll need also brand new stuff: protectors, helmet, jacket, boots. I have absolutely no idea where I should look, I mean online stores or Cincinnati area stores. Would you please give me directions and advises? I was thinking to buy Forcefield protectors as I had good comments from friends and they look impressive. I would take the chance to get myself also a new leather jacket. I like Dainese's. Welcome to Cincinnati! I lived there for about 15 years. I am in Lebanon, OH now, only about 15 miles outside Cincy (right by Kings Island). So I really still am in Cincinnati. I don't know if it is still true, but when I was visiting Germany back in 2002 or so, when the dollar was really strong, the deals I got on good gear (most of which was Italian I think) were far better then anything I could find in the US. The selection was better as well. The top brand stuff was about the same (like your Dainese), but there was a lot of "tier 2" generic stuff that was very good gear at a very good price. At the time, you could not find that stuff in the US, but I am starting to see it now at US online sites. So at this point, with the dollar weaker, it probably doesn't matter much if you get it in Italy or in the states. Columbus is about 2 hours from Cincinnati, and there is an "Iron Pony" store there. Its a big retail shop with all sorts of motorcycle gear at very good prices. I have not been there, but they have a great reputation. You get close to mail order prices, but can actually try stuff on. Its a booring drive on the interstate, but if you wanted to make it a 4 hour ride, there are some neat "long ways" you could take... You have (last I looked) two Cincinnati Buell dealers, Aces and Eights in Mason (about 4 miles from me), and Eastgate Buell (out towards Anderson). Both have done some things well for me, and both have screwed up some simple things like giving me wrong part numbers or not stocking simple thinks like brake pads. Easy stuff to fix if they choose too, and nothing you as a customer can't stay on top of, but unfortunate that they don't just "get it right". About an hour up the interstate to Dayton will take you to F&S Buell. Thats where I go. They work hard to get it right and generally have what I need in stock. I work in Dayton so I am there 5 days a week anyway... I'll be happy to tell you about various neighborhoods and areas as well if you have any questions. I really like Lebanon, but you have to be into the small town thing. Lots of great riding around here... tons of bikes and riders. | ||

Thanks for the replies. No, basically I am new to Buells so I was not part of Trib. I believe I wrote to all the dealers mentioned (Aces, 8 and I can't rememeber the 3rd was Eastgate). I found their www site linked on buell.com. Probably you are right, I need to see if I can get a good deal here on dainese (OH! I love that tattoo Ykz jacket) and bring more weight with me on the plane. Thanks for the warm welcome, I hope to have my visa soon ... Ciao Gianluca, e benvenuto! For a leather jacket, have a serious look at Fox Creek Leather on the web. They have intensely good quality leather products - made in USA - and jackets in racing, cruising and cafe styles, some with venting and some with armor protection pockets. Solid stuff, well built for good looks and protection. They are also good for other leather goods, like gloves. Di dove viene in Italia? |
