I recently purchased a set of 2000 (slotted) PM wheels and I noticed that the 'spokes' on the rotor carrier (i.e. spider) don't line up with the spokes on the PM wheel. Were these originally installed with the spokes aligned? Also since I plan to remove the carrier are there any tricks to removing the bolts? I remember some noting that they give the fastener a sharp hit to loosen the locktite. Any hints would be appreciated. Boiler |

Heat and a hand-held impact driver will help with the bolts (that and a quality Torx or Allen bit - I can't recall which). Use new bolts when reassembling. |

Sounds like someone's changed the rotor before. Yeah, the trick is make sure you have the CORRECT size bit (IIRC it's a T-27) and give it good tap with a hammer before attempting to unscrew it. |

Hmmm, I thought it was strange that the spokes did not line up. Thanks for the quick relies I will check my toolbox the verify the proper torx size. This site is the best!!!! |
