While I was in orlando, Eric, one of my best techs got tired of dicking around with trying to make the FI work with the built motor/Power commander. I just got back from the shop and my XB now has a jetski downdraft 46mm carb on it! I should have numbers in a day or two. Handmade velocity stack,S/E ign module, primer setup to get it started. This should get me to the "magic" 100hp at the ground! I can't wait! System will be available soon! Ride to the edge! I now have a carb! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

Carbs might have more versatility, but no way I'd chuck the FI on my XB. Quick to warm up, good mileage, cleaner exhaust emissions. Carbs can by finnicky (although apparently your FI was likewise...) Daves, have a blast on your new baby! |

The FI on a stock, or close to stock works fine. With my motor it didn't! Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

Thank goodness someone got the guts to try it - I know a few of us have dreamed about it - the DDFI on the XB's is a stubborn cantankerous pos. It enables the motor to run, but not to be tuned. Good on ya Dave. |

LOL, that's a bit different Blackbelt... The EFI on a Ferrari F1 car is more than likely just a tad more user friendly. |

A trick injection ( like hestec ) is a hard thing if you have to give it a base line and way more expensive than a carb. setup Gr,b Ps. Dave you still use the stock inj. Pomp ( with or with-out regulator )

No stock fuel pump, the carb has it's own. I'll work on pictures(ok I'll get Craig on it). I did not want to give up the FI but we tried everything except the actual race bike setup and couldn't make it run at all RPMs correctly. They tell me it's the closed loop, open loop deal that is the problem. Like I stated above, when I just had the 1050 kit without cams it worked fine with the race ECM and a DFO box. When we went futher with the bigger valves, cams,Force pipe set up we just couldn't get the PC tuned right, we tried to go back to the DFO box and still had tuning problems. We have not tested this set up yet so I don't know, maybe it won't work either. We will all know by middle of next week I hope. Ride to the edge! Sometimes you have to take a step back to go faster! Way to go Dave ! That F.I. is the only reason I stayed away from the X.B. line. Not that I don`t like F.I. I refuse to be at the mercy of H.D. for simple adjustments (tps). What A marketing scam! Can`t wait to here more. S1 Eric 97S1 98S1W |

damn that is fine. what kind of carb is that? is that a pressure regulator on the side? how easy is it to jet? is it a CV type?any reason not to use a weber? thanks for the information... and "way to go" i love brass jets. |

Just curious, about PC maps and all. Didn't you guys used to sell the Teclusion box and wasn't that supossed to more adjustable especially for highly modified XB motors? How do you compare the two. Oh, yeah, sweet work with the carbs!!!!! |

Absolutely fascinating, thanks for the pics Craig. I really, really, really hope it works well...if my eyes don't deceive me I think I see 2 cables hanging off that carby to adjust the hi and lo speed jets. |
