my bike pings a lot when I wind open the throttle over 2k rpm. tried premium unleaded petrol. Is it difficult to adjust the timing? |

My '04 did the same. My first Buell, it was partly me: reveling in its low-end torque and "harley-ing around" at low engine speeds. : ) Did search & study here; downloaded free ECM Spy software to my laptop and studied its manual. Bought a USB-to-bike cable from forum member, "brakes2late". Then, I was readily able to adjust its fuel tuning to stop the pinging. I did not adjust ignition timing to rid machine of pinging. I still fiddle with it, working toward an imagined 'ideal' tuning across its operating range. |

thanks for the reply Scott, my bike, -runs rough between idle and about 2000 revs. (feels too lean;can't idle along in traffic). -takes too long for the revs to drop while changing gears (only when warmed up, after 10 mins ride). is this normal for a Buell? thanks. |

You may want to check the intake manifold seals. Good luck. |
