I hate that it's come to this but as many of you have known from following me, I have had 3 major surgeries since I bought my 06 Uly. I'm looking at having to have another for my back. I'm thinking of putting Raider up to a good home and need a little advice on pricing. Details: Bought new in end of May 07. High and low seat, bags have never been installed. Still in plastic with all the hardware. Both Buell windshields, full service manual, large cover, stow & go bag. 640 miles. That's all, that's how much I've been laid up and looking at another lost year. It's been on a trickle charger the whole time and started once a week, left to idle for about a half hour each time. All recalls done before I bought it. I believe it still has the warranty until the end of May 09. You guys have been awesome, and I want to still hang to I recover and get another, but Raider needs to be ridden, not collect dust. So, any opinions on where to start and how to price it? I wish it qualified for the tax credit from the stimulus packages..lol http://www.motorcycle.com/news/motorcycles-included-in-stimulus-bill-87976.html Thanks Gug (Message edited by gugnheim on March 26, 2009) (Message edited by gugnheim on March 27, 2009) |

Saw one at the dealer, low mi. Bags etc. I didn't look close, but they had the tag at 7.900.00 (Message edited by rekrab on March 27, 2009) |

Sorry to see you still having to go through the surgery stuff. You are right 640 miles is not enough to hang on to it for now, and selling before the warranty runs out is a good idea. I have been seeing '06's selling for around the mid $6,000 range, but yours is still new. I would probably shoot for around $7,800 if it were mine. The difficult thing is selling against dealers that can put someone right into a financing deal. Good luck, and wish you the best in your medical recovery. |

With the low mileage on your bike I would hope it's worth at least somewhere in the 7K to 8K or so neighborhood.....the remaining warranty should help sell it. Some dealers are now selling leftover '08's for around 10K. |

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll do a little more research and put it out there. I learned today it's official, I have to go back under, so I think this is the right time to do it. I'll keep everyone advised as to when I put it up on the for sale board, auto trader, etc. I suppose ebay as well but have never used them except to buy. Thanks family. |

Sorry to see the medical problems. Don't forget about Craigslist. With the new search engine that's out, the bike will be easy to find on a nationwide search for a potential buyer. www.searchtempest.com Good luck with the surgery & ride again. |

Make sure you list the bike at ADVRider. In case you're not familiar, it's a very busy adventure riding board. Sign up and check out the flea market section. The Uly has a lot of fans there. www.advrider.com |

Thanks for the help everyone. It's up on the classifieds, and I have a web page at: http://web.me.com/gugnheim/Ulysale/Bike.html I'm lucky it's not a financial issue to sell, its just I hate to see it sit a whole up to a whole another year as I recover, especially as it has a warranty left and all the extra crap with it. Oh boy, hoping not to have to learn to how to re-tie my shoes for the third time in my life... Thanks Brothers and Sisters! Gug (Message edited by gugnheim on April 06, 2009) |
