No, most wheelies are done AT or AFTER the line. If you can't appreciate the symbolism or the f'ing cool factor of that wheelie, then there's no point trying to reason with you. Again, I am having a hard time with the fact that someone is trying to criticize the kid for one of the most outstanding post-race celebrations EVER! (yes, the race WAS over as far as the competition was concerned) |

It was a bit "out of the ordinary" but man . . . after all these years . . . all I could do was scream, cheer and be confident that Erik Buell would have done precisely the same thing. I think Danny is a very smart young man and he has some very seasoned pros around him. His greatest challenge is going to be to focus, win graciously, loose graciously and be a fierce competitor. Him and RMR are a sponsors dream. There guys are true pros. Court |

Exactly Court ! Fresno: Where was the criticism in my post ? Instead of trying to find something to argue about take some time and read the post.....again ! "I just hope he doesn't go over board with any of his future victory celebrations. Go Buell & Danny !". I don't understand what YOUR problem is with that statement. That's not criticism....that's a blessing !

Kind of off topic but this reminds me of one occasion when my older son was enjoying a lot of success in amateur racing. At one race he actually asked permission to wheelie across the finish line if he was leading through the checkers.(he was probably 13 at the time) I told him that he could do anything he wanted. Do you want to guess what happened? It was a one wheeled win I really miss racing. I wish I wasnt so damn poor right now. |

Check out the CRAZY press conference after Eslicks win!!! Sparks fly between Hacking and DiSalvo, a fight almost breaks out...with Eslick caught in the middle!!!! All on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCPctYu0txg (Message edited by nickdagger on March 31, 2009) And from AMA Pro Racing: AMA Pro Issues Penalties AMA Pro Road Racing rider Jamie Hacking has been suspended indefinitely with a $4000 fine following this weekend's event at Auto Club Speedway for conduct detrimental to the sport of professional motorcycle racing. The culminating incident occurred in the Auto Club Speedway media center following post-race interviews on Sunday where Hacking used a string of profane language while exiting the press interview area. Prior to this incident, Hacking displayed additional acts of inappropriate behavior in both public and media interviews. (Message edited by nickdagger on March 31, 2009) |

Danny seems to be a little new to the win, not yet ready or able to take it with grace. Uhhh....no criticism here? |

And what's the next line there Fresy ??? "rightly soooooooo" .... You can't just pick and choose what you wanna read. I never said he shouldn't wheelie, it's been done forever by the victors. Where are you lost ? |

a great moment in buell history and you two want to go back and fourth about a mute point.........pahh leeeeeeeeez! if i won the first race for Buell i for sure would have done exactly what Danny did maybe even more. lets speculate on more important issues like what gear was he in , that wheelie looked effortless. or why did he forget to put the little velcro patch for his inner boot laces to its home so it didnt dangle out( i have same boots in black by the way) or when will we be able to get a danny eslick replica helmet?

It was never a issue for me. Fresy, like a slick preacher, wants to take my words out of context and make them mean what he needs them to mean to have something to argue about. Danny did good, I already gave him well wishes to the future. The effortlessness of the wheelie is one of the reasons why I luv the vtwins. My last three bikes have been vtwins. I don't think I'll ever go back to an IL4. |

Hooly, it was a backhanded compliment at best. I hope Danny learns his lesson and keeps both wheels on the ground until AFTER crossing the line. |

Here is it for you again...Preacherman. "Lol... It was abit wiggly at the end. Danny seems to be a little new to the win, not yet ready or able to take it with grace. Rightly so .... He's a young winner. I just hope he doesn't go over board with any of his future victory celebrations. Go Buell & Danny !"

"Hooly, it was a backhanded compliment at best. I hope Danny learns his lesson and keeps both wheels on the ground until AFTER crossing the line." That's apparently a conversation you had in your head because I never wrote that. |

It's funny that a discussion about celebrating a victory for the brand we all love can be turned into an argument...Only on BadWeb! I think all that was being said is that the wheelie was really cool, but the wobble at the end was a nervous moment. I thought it was WAAAAYYY cool, but also was hoping he could set it down safely when I saw the instability at the end. |

Anybody notice, along with the loose bootstrap and all, that he had lost his right front axle slider? Check out the photo with his knee in the grass . . . |

I wonder how many Buell 1125R's are still in stock at California Dealers after the first win and incredible ¼ mile wheelie! |
