Ever wonder how Harley-Davidson puts a V-Rod together? Wonder no more.

National Geographic will answer all your questions in the premiere episode of “Ultimate Factories,” a series about iconic American brands which makes its debut Sunday night, January 28, at 8:00 p.m. on the National Geographic channel.

The program will explore how Harley-Davidson’s designers, engineers and technicians create the V-Rod, including the VRXSE Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer, at the company’s plant in Kansas City, Missouri.

If you miss the original broadcast, it will re-air on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 6:00 p.m.

I should have said "An Additional Direction"! Buell Motor Company, it was announced last night at the dealer show but I'm not sure it has been made an "official" public announcement, will be adding to it's line up of race motorcycles in 2008. It is most definitely an interesting addition to the Buell line up. Watch for more!

Buell homecoming is not Miracle ride weekend this year. It will be 5-8 July to coincide with the asra, ccs races at Road America, http://www.roadamerica.com/races_ccs.htm , the 6-8 July. As a kicker, on the 5th, there is a bike night harley shootout at this dragway http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com 25 miles from the factory. Just thought I'd throw this info out there.

Went to the Detroit Cycle World show last month. Buell had a really nice display and quite large at that! Picked up my free t-shirt. Also got to meet Rosey Lackey of MV Agusta fame. He piloted the F4-1000R to a Bonneville world record. 187+ mph!

Also saw a bike I JUST GOTTA HAVE! LOL! A URAL Gear Up! They're slow, Russian made, have a sidecar, and are just soooo cool! And yes Ed, they are better quality now than the vintage Challis (sp) has. LOL! Just how much better though is up for debate.

Hi guys. We have already been planning on racing both of our Buells at the CCS/ASRA races at Road America July 6-8. The bike night Harley Shootout on the 5th at the Great Lakes Dragway sounds interesting too. There is not a conflicting AHDRA event so there is a good chance we'll load a Detroyer in the trailer and have some fun at the dragstrip as well. At this point attending both events certainly seems doable.

Second U.S. Grand Prix In 2008 with all three GP classes--MotoGP, 250cc GP, 125cc GP--in 2008 as long as required course safety improvements are made.

A commercial agreement is already in place, although contracts have not been signed, according to sources in the MotoGP paddock.

If the deal goes through, the second U.S. Grand Prix will be held in September, 2008.

A delegation from FIM inspected the track earlier this week.

I could be mistaken, but I think I saw our very own Jeff Stevens on "Biker Build-off" tonight. It was shot at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Can I get a confirmation on that? It appears that you have officially burnt up about a 1/2 of a second of your 15 minutes of fame! Good thing you were supporting the Indiana boy.

I did watch the Las Vegas Biker Build Off episode yesterday and that guy saying "Hoosier Daddy" certainly did look a bit like me. 1/2 of a second of fame is pretty accurate too.

We had, or should I say "I" had the RIDE Club meeting on Saturday. I covered various topic, of which I agreed to all, and voted on lunch, which I got what I wanted. Actually I was the only one here so it was a small turnout. I had forgotten everyone was going to the Chicago show. How was it? Any new earth shattering models? Any info on the "additional" direction Buell is headed? Hope all had a great time and we'll see you March 10th.

the ride club had a meeting saturday evening at giordano's in rosemont,illinois. present were erin, wade, shawn, heather, and eddie. we had a late lunch (6:30pm), and frosty libations. we discussed all things motor powered with 2 wheels. we planned many possible events for the warmer days to come. everyone expressed the wish for winter to be over, and for riding season to commence as early as possible. being at the show gave us all The Fever.

sorry that the other members were unable to attend....the five of us had a great time, and missed the rest of you.

we look forward to our meeting in march.

Sorry about that Dan.....It really just came down to things that were just out of D's control.

Anyway, I'm pleased to announce that my friend of many years, (17 years to be exact) Darrell, just purchased a 2006 XB9SX from Aaron at Buell of Bloomington. I believe he will be going by the moniker "Agentwulf" here on BadWeb.

Spring is coming! Woohoo! Will we ride to the next meeting, which is March 10 I believe? I hope so.

After getting to the Dealership and checking them out even more, I was surprised to find my decision had shifted to the Buell XB9SX. It's been quite a few years since I've ridden, and now that I have it, I can't wait to get back to doing it. AWESOME looking bike!

motorcycle spring is here !!!!

between now and sunday, we have ama, wsb, and motogp comin' at us on tv. get ready for road racing, supercross and flat track races to watch. winter isn't over, but we have something to look at on tv now.

speaking of something to do, our march meeting is coming up on saturday, march 10th at 12:00pm. as always, it will be in the conference room at harley davidson-buell of bloomington. don't know for sure the topics to be covered, so come and find out. bring friends and/or prospective members, please. let's have a big group turnout.

although the meeting starts at noon, ama daytona coverage starts a 11:00 am. if anyone wants to arrive early and watch, we will be there doing so.

it may be nice enough that day to ride, so keep that in mind, and plan accordingly. at-home tape or dvr recording of the race coverage would be prudent.

I can't make it again! I'll be in northern WI riding snowmobiles. My bike is ready for spring though. New drive belt has been put on since it broke that last day i rode it last year. Hope to see you guys next month, hopefully on 2 wheels, weather permitting.
