Alright...first problem I've ever had with this bike.

I got it out of winter storage last week. It's been sitting since November. It fired right up. No problems. Rode to work and back. Fine.

Next day....same deal. Fired right up. Rode to work and back. No issues.

Parked for three days. I get it out yesterday. Hit the starter. It fires up...and immediately stalls. Then it won't start. Keeps doing the same thing. Will turn over but not run. Stalls immediately.

So...I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. There's plenty of gas in it. It's still the winter gas, that was fresh the day I put it away and has Sta-bil in it.

I'm gonna try a fresh set of plugs...but after that I dont know what to do.

Thoughts?

Gas and plugs would be my guess...

How long was the ride to work?

Can you hear the fuel pump come on? IF not, the relay might be bad.

Fuel pump comes on every time. The ride to work is only 8 miles round trip...so I only put about 19 miles on it in two days.

I know shorter rides can cause plug fouling so I'd look there first.

Call up Buell tech support. They have a fix for your problem that involves opening the throttle several times without trying to start the bike. Something about putting the ECM into a mode that allows for a hotter spark to get the bike started. My wifes 08' Scg had this problem and it sucks! I don't remember the techs name, but the phone girls don't know the answer, you have to get in touch with him thru the girls. Wish I could remember the procedure, but they should know what you're talking about.

The plug cleaning mode that Htekwo mentions is only applicable to 08-up Buells.

You'll have to change plugs if that's your problem.

I'm gonna start with changing the plugs. It's an unbelievable pain in the ass to do so.

How do you guys get the wire off the rear plug? I certainly can't get it by hand.

Be carefull, spark plug needle nose pliers.
about a 10-15 min job once you've done it a couple times.
some things to help
3/8 fuel line about 10 inches.
helps start the new plug in rear cyl.
8" "wobble extension"
good spark plug socket
patients, easy to cross thread rear cyl s-plug.

Replaced plugs. Still won't run. No blown fuses. I'm about out of ideas.

Yeah it was on the charger the whole time. I charged it yesterday...and it's back on the charger now. So...I guess if it fires after a charge I'll have to replace it.

It is the original...and now over 4 years old.

Alright...battery was fully charged. Still won't start.

It's not like it's just turning over and turning over. It's fires and just immediately dies.

I dont get it.

Could the gas have all the sudden gone bad?

If you have fuel, just asking,I get 5 0r so bikes a year towed in due to no fuel.apply a little throttle,if the bike is flooded you,ll have to clean it out.
you havent done anything with the BAS have you,if thats not correct it will fire and die.
also check your coil for cracks, mostly on the S models but I have seen some on R's.
Good Luck

I'm not familiar with the BAS?

The coil looked good to me.

do you have any,and is it getting to the injectors?
do you have any check lights on.
if so do you have a way to pull codes.

will it run on carb cleaner or starter fluid or by dumping gas down the throttle body.

Wheelybueller...

You BAS died suddenly? How do I go about checking it to see if thats the case? I know it's located up front.

And I'm not sure if fuel is getting to the injectors. I know it was last week when it ran.

Also, no check engine light or codes.
