Is there a way to tell what heads are on my X1? I bought a 2000 X1 from a guy and he said he had head work done and also cams. I asked him for paperwork just for future reference but he had lost it while moving a couple of times. I bought the bike without even knowing it had any work done, so all of this was just a bonus. I'm sure the motor has had work done because i've rode a stock X1 and mine pulls like a freight train in comparison. I can post pictures if that is of any help. |

most likely it is just port work on thunderstorms. i would say 98% of buell motor work that gets done involves thunderstorms. all x1's had thunderstorm heads stock, it is relatively cheap to get a stage 2 port job done on them. power in these bikes is unleashed with port work. |

Basically it's like your sister setting you up on a blind date with one of her friends and she says she's "cute" only to find out she's a super model. I bought it thinking it was stock and then find out it had head work done to it, which is evident after riding it. I guess i'll know a lot more when I get a chance to get it on a dyno when the weather warms up. |

The bigger concern is whether your super model of a Buell likes it when you ride her hard multiple times a day. |

I mean most the time she doesn't mind, but she is a little cold blooded a few days a month. |
