omg i can not let my wife find or look at this thread. bc she would want me to get her a blast and paint it purple.

This is something i have never understood about Buell. There is 4 pieces of plastic on the Blast, that are easy to change, why not have more colors available, especially a female color?

the blast can survive a while longer with just a few cost effective updates from the XB line. and the chrome handle bars can be eliminated.

Court,

The "Doohickey" is the cam chain tension adjuster. The doohickey usually breaks and it relies on the spring until that fails and well you probably know.

A lot of people upgraded theirs, not sure if you know but there is a solid replacment aftermarket part.

KLR list is on the old www.egroups.com now http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DSN_KLR650/
A lot of solid KLR info there.

You have to call Kawasaki customer support for inquiry about parts.

Anyways, Glad Buell is dedicated and committed to improvement. Keep those comm channels open.: )

Okay, so humor me on this one, but let me see if I finally have an understanding of the Beull/HB bag scenario. I'm interested in the 40L Junior/Outdoorsman bags. They fit in place of the 30L, but don't interchange with the Journey. And that's because the Outdoorsman and Journey systems use different racks/mounting systems?

It sounds like the Journeys can be good, but don't quite hit the mark for a lot of folks. I haven't heard any negatives about the Outdoorsmans.

So, a broader question: the Journey opens in a clam-shell fashion - two equal halves. The Outdoorsman looks as though it opens all the way to the outside, giving you one large compartment. Again, am I correct? Do folks have opinions of one style over the other in that respect?

With the clam shell, only half of your stuff falls out when you open it as opposed to all of it.
