Whats up guys. I just wanted to share a little story that only you would enjoy.. About three years ago I was in a pretty wicked wreck on my S2 (#249) with an old lady in an SUV who apparently can't drive. Long story short, after a 20 day induced com, a new shiny rod in my femur, and some rehab... I just bought another S2 from Philip on the board and picked it up Saturday. It was the first time I had been on a bike since the wreck. I missed riding everyday, but was unsure of what memories or thoughts would go through my head when I slung my leg over the bike. Luckily, I could not remember the bad things that happened but only the good times I had with my bike. It was very emotional to say the least. It feels great to be on a motorized scooter. I have supressed my bike love for the last three years with mountain biking, but there is no comparison than being on the open road. I just wanted to share, and thank philip for parting with his S2. I wish everyone a great riding season, and I will try not to be a stranger to the board. Thanks for listening! Scott Wilson *proud new owner of his second S2 |

I also wrecked my S2 back in '99 the same way which put me in the hospital.Luckily I found a beautiful low mileage S2(same year & color)a month later.I've been riding that bike ever since. Glade you're back on a Buell again. |

I'll try to make it up to CO for sure, I just need to make sure everything is in sound working order on the bike first. I'll get pics soon. My old s2 had 20k on it when I needed to redo the front forks and rear isolators. Is this pretty common? How bout the front iso too? |

Ztferrari, send your email address to me at f_skinner@yahoo.com and I will add you to the S2 Gathering mailing list! 20K is about right. I replace them all at once. I take that back, I always intend to replace them all at once. I am getting ready to do my S2-T. New tires, isolators (all three), brakes, wheel bearings etc. It is a lot easier than the S1. I believe my S2-T still has the original isolators and the bike has almost 20K on it. I noticed the front isolator was dry rotted so I am sure the rear ones are also. |
