Found this on craigslist http://mansfield.craigslist.org/mcy/1064676124.htm l I talked to the seller and he said he bought it new in 1999, but him and his wife had another kid and worked different shifts so he really didn't have time to ride it. His wife didn't like riding 2 up on it, so he bought a road king. The speedometer went out a last summer when he rode over some railroad tracks, and since then he maybe put a 1/2 hour of riding on it. It was dumped in the driveway when it was backed into, so it has some scratches on the gas tank. It looks pretty decent except for the seat cover. Any opinions? Anybody know what the race exhaust is worth? |

Looks like a great deal, especially with that seat! Shock looks to be the pre-recall item, but I can't really tell. Has the collar but no reservoir? That needs to be addressed, but even so, I'd give it serious consideration. |

I'm with Guell, good find. go and take a look and if it really does run & ride well, i would personally snag it... then immediatly change that seat! |

i can't blame the wife for not wanting to ride two up though. |

I had asked if all the recalls had been done, and he said the shock and gas tank retainer had been done, so that shock just probably has the collar kit on it. I'm going to look at the bike next weekend since I live in Missouri, but I will be in that area of Ohio next weekend. I'm really tempted to buy it, but I'm going to have to figure out what to do with my '97. |

If you can get a VIN, send it to me in a PM. I can check date sold, name and location of original owner, and status of recalls through the H/D Buell system. |

Looks like a screaming deal, race kit with the ceramic coating should be really nice. Prolly just the stock shock on there, with the collar like you said. |

Uhh yea! If you've got the money, get it! And unless space is an issue keep the 97! |

Well I can't get my '97 running right. It's being a real pain. That's part of the reason that I'm looking for a different one. I pieced together the '97 and as of right now I can't even get it ridable, so I'd probably end up parting it out. |

Well a day late and a dollar short. Called him again today, and he had sold it this afternoon. I was getting my hopes up for getting a new bike this weekend. Oh well. |

John, I picked it up today. I was told that there were 3 interested parties but he gave me priority since I was the first to call last week. It would have been gone last Friday if he hadn't been traveling... I will conserve the M2 and not butcher it. |

Glad to see it went to a good home. I was just about to go to the bank and take out cash for my trip to Ohio this weekend, so I'd figure I'd give him a call and tell him to hold it for me. Hopefully you'll change the seat cover, though. |
