I just bought a dual headlight setup for my X1W. The wiring diagram has 4 wires (position lamp, high beam, low beam, ground) but the headlight setup has 3 (high beam, low beam, ground). Do I just leave the position lamp unconnected? And what is the position lamp anyway? Also, does anyone know a good source to buy AMP MULTILOCK connectors, the only places I found required me to buy a case of them. Thanks in advance for any input. |

I did the same conversion on my X1. The position lamp wires do not get connected. I think the position lights are for Euro models? |

thank you for the quick reply. did you end up just splicing the wires to the harness or cutting off the stock headlamp plug and connect the wires? I'm trying to find the AMP connectors but there is always a $100 minimum, and the plugs are like 50 cents. Thanks again |

I read somewhere that if you connect the position wire to the low beam wire. i think that when you flip to high beam the low beam will stay on as well. anybody know about this. |

Lovedabueller, Yes. The position light is run off the accessory circuit, not the low beam circuit. When you switch on the high beam the accessory line is still on. Quick and easy mod most XB's do. |

X1- I cut the OEM wire plug but I left enough wire on it in case I ever wanted to return the bike back to the original single light. BTW- both of my lights shine on dim and bright, if hooked up correctly you should still be able to use the flash button also. (Message edited by capital_g on March 07, 2009) |

Capital g, thanks for the advice, I'll just re-use the OEM plug and wire according to your specifications. |
