Can anyone tell me what rear shock this is? It's on a 01 M2. Thanks. Shupe |

IIRC '99-'00 had the longer shock that was recalled. My '00 X1 built late '99 was updated when purchased new by the original owner. |

I just got one of those $600.00 WP shocks for my S1W and now that I am reading more I am a little worried about it. Apparently the 1st recall was due to the WP shock breaking and causing the bike to pole vault. I know the one I just bought is a bit different, but not much by the looks of it. |

My '99 X1 which i bought new has the middle shock pictured in "5liter's" post. I was never notified of a recall from BMC. I got the fuel filter and the throttle cable recall notice. Why didn't i get the shock recall? |

I fall in the group in the middle picture as I have a '00 X1. So, does this mean I should now have the "smaller" shock since my shock was replaced as part of the recall? |

The second shock in the picture was a good one to replace the WP. It was an early recall. Dean |

My stock S3T shock started leaking oil about a month ago. Better than the engine leaking. I'm actually happy to discover this. I don't think the shock has been working properly for years. Replaced it with Penske from American Sportbike. Fully adjustable for damping, preload and ride height. Its the best shock I have ever had on any bike. A little pricey but transformed the bike. |

The only re-call on shocks was 2K X1. 99 did not apply. But Showas are re-buildable and adjustable. Aftershocks did a beautiful job on mine, also put it at the front of the production line when I let them know my bike was hanging from the rafters awaiting it's return! |
