Obama campaigned with promises of transparency and honesty and has paraded an unprecedented collection of criminals before us resulting in the most withdrawals in my lifetime If I may , "Thats an Accurate Statement" }I like this "No Incumbents" slate that was mentioned. Me too. I got the idea from a teacher in the comunity colledge that I attended, his view was that if they did not screw you in their first term then dont give them a second chance. Made sense then makes sense now, } |

Interesting connection Court... I hadn't made the connection about the market reaction to the commerce secretary. A chilling timeline for sure... I think I got this right, but Rahm has been making mistakes faster then I can track them... 1) Obama picks a commerce secretary (Richardson) based on him being a prominent Democrat. (I don't know if he was qualified to be a commerce secretary, but we can give him the benefit of the doubt). 2) Richardson was already under investigation for graft. Obama, used to a free media pass for anything he does, is surprised to discover the issue is actually getting traction, and "un-nominates him". 3) Obama nominates Gregg (a republican, again presumably qualified, but I don't know) to be commerce secretary, and starts singing from the "work together across the isle" songbook. Gregg announces acceptance. 4) Obama announces that Rahm will be "running" the census. Which means the whitehouse has siezed a critical component of future election outcomes, and moved it from an "accounting" government group to a "political" government group. 5) Presumably, Gregg has a conversation with the Obama administration saying "you said this was going to be a bi-partisian job, but you just made a massive power grab and want me to support it". 6) Again, presumably, the Obama administration continues the "you lost, we don't have to work with you" position and tells Gregg to get with the program or hit the highway. 7) Gregg hits the highway. The net implication of this is that it was more important to Obama (or more likely, Rahm Emmanuel) to be able to gerrymander the next election results then it was to have a coherent plan for ecommerce at a time when the market is already in a panic, and when the congress was creating the largest spending bill in the history of the country. It's all fairly chilling. I don't understand how the new Presidential administration and Democratically controlled congress can put their own wants and needs ahead of those of America... particularly right now. |

Does make one wonder exactly WHO'S best interests they have in mind. Trust but verify. Must have missed this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/boar d-auth.cgi?lm=1235057383&file=/272911/435389.html I do find it odd that there have always been accusations thrown against Republicans with no proof to substantiate the claims while there is definitive evidence of tax evasion and shady dealings and nothing is done. Odd. What is shocking is the boldness with which it is being done. This will come back to bite the Democrats in 2010 and again in 2012. |
