Hey guys. Just put the tail tidy on and i like it alot. A couple of notes: 1) The instructions are not very good. Seems like they still had instructions from an earlier version or they were just bad. Dunno. Good thing is that its not rocket science to install this thing (helped that I had been in the tail section taking off tail for track days.) PICTURES WOULD HELP...if anyone is listening. 2) Kits is missing two nuts--at least mine was. I rigged it up with some machine screws/nuts I had laying around, but the improvised screws are plain metal. It doesn't look good. I'll get the proper nuts tomorrow to finalize the install. 3) In order for the plate that covers up the hole in the tail to fit in correctly, you have leave out the middle screw (see pic below.) If you don't then the head of the screw hits the plate and doesn't allow for a flush fit. I think this might be the reason some Badwebbers are having issues with fitment possibly. Of course, this tidbit isn't in the instructions. This screw must stay out! It doesn't matter. It's rock solid with the other two screws only  The kit is very high quality and I was very surprised at how well packed and impressive the unit is. Hey Fresnobuell - that looks really good I have to say. Is that the one off eBay from the UK? I like the location of the license plate vs. the other one being sold, which seems too far inboard for my tastes. And how well does the actual license plate light seem to work on that one? Thanks John | ||

Fresno, not sure why but I did not have any of the fitment issues. It's been a while ago that I installed the kit, but mine fit perfectly. | ||

Spectrum--I remember some badwebbers noting some concerns about fitment in another thread. And I believe it was the base plate too. I tried a few times to make sure the head of the middle screw was the cuprit--so much that the head left a mark where it was hitting the back of the plate. Either way, the two bolts that are holding it on are very substantial and I don't see an issue in the future by leaving the one out. It is the one from the UK. Here are some pics of the packaging. I remember a couple guys mentioning that they wanted to get rid of their evotech units in order to get a different model. If anyone still wants to do that, please PM me. I might be interested in buying your evotech. | ||

I have the same kit on my bike. I really liked the quality of everything. The only mod I made was to get rid of the factory turn signals. I bought some smaller aftermarket signals that seem to be just as bright. | ||

The inserts are missing for the two 4mm screws. They were willing to send me a new bracket however I just upsized the screw and tapped the hole.so I could get the bike on the road | ||

I put the tail tidy on and the only issue I had was with the plate that covers up the hole, not the bracket itself. I also changed my blinkers, but only because one of the OEMs burned out and there were issues with them burning out at the time, so I just went with some aftermarket signals. Mike | ||

Fresno, That's the same kit I installed. It was months ago, but I posted up pictures as well. Yes the wiring is plug and play. They give you extensions, but I did not use them. The left turn signal wires were a bit tight without the extensions. | ||

Now that I think about it, I may have had problems with getting that one bolt you indicated to line up. I seem to remember that what I did was start all of the bolts with only a few threads and then tighten them down together so that the piece aligned as I tightened it. At least that is what I think happened, but it has been several months since then. Mike | ||

Mike, The bolt in question seemed to line up okay for me, along with the other two. The problem was that the head of the middle bolt kept the plate from going flush with the bottom of the undertail. I omitted the offending bolt and so far so good. As it stands the plate is flush with the undertail, except for a portion of the left side. It's sits probably a half mm higher than the undertail surface, but certainly not noticeable at all, except for the installer's eye. I would give the fitment the fitmenta 8.5 out of 10 (if omit the middle bolt.) | ||

Probably not a good idea if you live in a wet clime. The OEM set-up will definitely keep more spray off you. With my tail chopped, all I see is sand and gravel on my tail-bag. Z | ||

I have not noticed any increased spray, but there is debris (gravel, sand, rocks) between the seat and pillion cover all the time now compared to before the tail tidy install. | ||

Mike. Your setup looks just like mine - tidy tail and flashers. I bought my flashers at Cycle Gear. I have the fast blink effect though. Does yours blink fast as well? If yours don't blink fast, do you mind sharing what you bought and where? | ||

No, they do not. They blink at the same rate as the OEM blinkers. This is not the first set or aftermarket blinkers that I got. I got another type first and the stem diameter was too large. Those had the rapid blink, but these just plugged in and had the same blink rate. I had to put bullet connectors from Radio Shack on the ends so they would plug into the OEM wires though. I believe they are bikemaster universal mini turnsignals (26-6201) they are 12v 1W, but I do not remember for sure. Mike (Message edited by kttemplar on February 19, 2009) | ||

Yeah, I said "spray," but on the other thread they seem to be talking about dirt, sand, and gravel as well, just like zac4mac & kttemplar report. Damn, I like the clean look of the tail tidy, but I don't know if I'm willing to risk getting crap all over my new Icon leather . . . | ||

i did away with mine completly and mounted my plate directly where the stock bracket went and mounted my blinkers to the side  |
