Hwy 151, exit 348, has Wendys, Wafflehouse, McDonalds, KFC, Krystals, Hardees, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell for fast food. Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesdays, and a couple of local restaurants for slow food. There's also two mexican places. My recommendation for local food is Chow Time, for a good burger. Rick may have another suggestion or two. |

if you call me after your first fuel stop, it should put you around gainesville. a good place to stop and say hello to paul at gainesville buell/hd. really great guy and it right off the interstate(of which you'll see heading south) and there's a gas station right at the corner. if i leave when you call, we can hook up in the wildwood exit area then if you want to take it easy a little, we can jump on 301 and take a little more leasurely ride for a while. maybe one of these other guys around here might chime in and be interested in taking a little ride. let me know what you think. |

I'm sure we can find something Rick.

I just watched the latest weather report. This is gonna be a cold sumbich weekend in East Tenn. You will probably be doing the most direct Southern route! I hope it warms up for your return trip. Have a great trip! |

It's 22 on my front porch. I'll bet it's chilly on Monteagle! Didn't take that spring preview long to spoil me. A good day to let it warm up and head SOUTH! It's even chilly (35) in Valdosta! |

Just in case Mike doesn't get a chance to post up, I talked to him at 4:00 and he was just hitting Georgia. Some of the Nashville bunch sent him down Hwy 41 and he must have had too much fun, because it took him 3 1/2 hours to get to Ringgold. |

Mike and Dan left from here, Bumpus , at about 11:00am central time. They did take Hwy 41. I think they preferred that route instead of I-24 because it was still cold and plus they didn't want to pass up some good two lane riding. |

I'm glad we have evidence they made it this far. It even warmed up enough to thaw them out a bit before it got cold again. Maybe they made it past most of the cool stuff. When they get to Nevrenuf's, their lows are our highs for the next few days. I have never seen another Buell here Man, you need to stick your head up and look around more. Course I've never seen another Buell there either. |

Hey guys, it was great to meet you. Glad I was able to catch you on your way through.
Dave the Buell "Adventure Consultant" was present.
Tom the owner of Bumpus Buell/HD was too.
Nothing draws a crowd like "shiny".
Then again, a quick repair can also draw a crowd.
Again, great to meet you. I hope your trip is fantastic! (Message edited by ft_bstrd on February 21, 2009) |

My phone wasnt working earlier so I havent been posting. Looks like I got it figured out now. Guys, no lie, when I buy my next Buell I will drive to Bumpus. Im still shocked by the hospitality. I would like to publicly appoligize to eaton corners for totally blowing our meet time. I got mixed up on the eastern time deal ans went the wrong way. I thought I was running 1 hour late, but was actually 3 hours late. Im so very sorry. |

well mike and dan just left here about an hr ago heading for naples for their next nites stop. we met up at gainesville buell/hd where they got to meet paul, the other paul from the ocala area i believe, paintshaker(with his racebike and the shop racebike), marty(from the buellitinboard) and i believe it was another mike.(sorry for my inability to get a persons name on the first time but i try) gainesville was having their 16th anniversary party which seemed like a pretty good turn out to me. went to get something to eat at tgif then headed south to brandon where they rested up for a little while at the old homestead then headed south. pics to come later. |

Well we made it to Naples, unfortunately there was not a hotel availible anywhere within 30 miles. Believe me i called them all. We ended up doubling back to Fort Myers. It was worth it though. Our room is friggin sweet. Parking lot security, huge room with a beautiful balcony over looking the waterfront. Palm trees all over and a walkway out to the island gazebo. We are up late doing laundry and enjoying our view. We are planning on sleeping in. This was a long day. A little over 900 miles so far since we left. Were off to the Keys tomorrow. |
