Your dealer can run the part number for that tank bag and find out if there are any in inventory anywhere.
I'd suspect the battery or a ground and Brian is right . . . a battery for a 2003 Buell will be your responsibility.
Loooooooooooong story about the shirts and a funny one too. I stuck 12 of them in Paul's luggage as we were leaving NYC. . . . we get to the airport and he gets stiffed $50 for his luggage being overweight.
All the time we are in WI I kept forgetting them and then, when I remembered. . . . well they were in San Francisco with Paul and Kathy on the final 5 days of their 37 day around the world adventure.
They are now sitting back in NYC. Drop me a NOTE if you want one and I'll get you details.
Court, Any chance of finding a design print for the VR frame Eric is in front of on page 120 & 121 of 25 Years of Buell? I would love to make one for my V-rod motor. This is how the V-rod frame should have been made.
Court How does one go from working w/ Eric to construction work in NYC? I to am in new construction as a PM for a controls company in Phoenix however if given the chance, I think I would rather be playing w/ Buell's all day. While I understand how good the money is in construction, bikes have much less stress. What changed?

Hi Court,
I feel the need to have a whinge and unfortunately you get to hear it...
I've been trying to find out whether Australia/NZ is getting U.S. spec or Euro spec (with catalytic converters and hp/torque drop) XB's for 2009. As I noted in an earlier thread, the buell.com site for Australia/NZ has a mix of figures for hp and torque.
I've sent a fax to H-D/Buell Australia a couple of weeks ago, but no reply. I rang them yesterday and it puts you through to voicemail so I left a message with my enquiry. No reply yet.
I spoke to the local dealer today and they are aware of the errors on the website. They are getting the first '09 XB's (which are sold already) late this week and even they don't know whether they have catalytic converters or not! They won't know until they open the crates by the sound of things, and they sound frustrated by the lack of information too.
Is it that hard for Buell to pass on information? I'd be pretty annoyed if I'd ordered an '09 and found out it was down on hp compared to an '08.

I suspect it's Euro spec but will see what I can find.
Were the errors on the website corrected? If not, let me know.
If you don't hear back from me in a week or so on this bug me. . . . I'm up at 5am briefing cases for class tonight and with school started I've got my hands full and in my sunset years I'm getting Court'sheimers!

Good morning Court
Don't worry about it too much, I just had to vent. Tony at Morgan & Wacker suggested I drop in to them on Monday to see what they've un-crated before the bikes are delivered to there new owners.
The website is still hasn't been corrected, still same mix of Euro and U.S. spec. The "Info Request" still brings up Buell UK form as well.
Good luck with class tonight It might not be C.R.A.F.T. disease, you might just need to clear out the brain with a ride on the Uly

Re the Aust/NZ site, the link to the "Info Request" page has now been fixed. Horsepower/torque figures are still mixed up for the XB's, though the bikes are here. I'm going to try and go and have a look at one tomorrow.
Looks like we still get the U.S. model I dropped into the dealer today and the '09 XB12Ss had already been picked up by it's new owner (lucky b'strd) but I was told it had the same headers and exhaust as the '08's, so still 103hp

Hi Court. Just got the book and had a hard time putting it down! Great to find out the story of Buell. To bad I had to have it shipped from Liberty H.D. instead of being able to get it at the H.D. dealer 1/2 a mile away. With all the Harley crap in there, I can't even get a Buell coffee mug let alone your book. Sorry I got side tracked, anyway love the book and wanted to thank you guys for making it!
Thanks and please check to make sure the centerfold of the Buell umbrella girls was not removed from your copy. We've had some reports of books getting delivered with the centerfold removed.
It is a shame that there aren't 5 copies sitting on the counter of all Buell dealers.
In fact . . . I was an advocate (I confess to being highly biasiated and non-objectivatorial) of sending a copy to each purchaser of a new 25th Anniversary 2008 Buell.
Folks love to brag about their new motorcycles and think for a moment how powerful a marketing tool it would be to have 10,000 folks armed with a great book to show and entice their friends. Most motorcyclists I know . . . well, they know and speak to many other motorcyclists.
Dave and I have rejected two requests to make appearances in Speedo tank suits.
The first, from a gay club in Butte, MT I considered in poor taste. The second, from a 4-H group in Dubuque was looking like a go until we found out out appearance was part of the Opti-Fast "senior diet" program.
Eroded though they may be . . . we have standards dammit!
We're looking at a BBQ deal in Texas next year as a possible outing. . . . .
BattleTrax™ is the property of Reg Kittrelle and I **think** fell victim to insurance concerns.
Many folks create similar sort of things but Reg had really invested some time, serious thought and effort into making BattleTrax™ a very safe and professionally run event.
I always learned a bit more about riding, my ability to to understand and control my motorcycle better.
I was wondering if there was a way to get the dimensions of the new 1125 motor.... like a blueprint type page so that I may build a dummy block........
I have a potential project for this summer and am impatient for a salvage project.....
