On my ride today I noticed the bike started missing at 5,500 rpm then 5000 rpm and finally at 4,500 rpm. It just kept getting worse and my top speed dropped to 60 mph. I am thinking it is electrical, plugs, plug wire, coil or something along those lines. It cleared up and ran fine until I got home then it just died. Any ideas? TIA, Frank |

Check your intake boots. They always like to pinch on me when I install 'em...either that or the carb boot is my usual culprit. Bastard. My S1W hasn't been out of the garage since...lessee....arg. October. Damned salty roads. |

I replaced the carb and intake boots about a year ago. It has been running great until now. |

I also remember another post where the tank vent was at fault and the motor pulled the fuel down enough to create vaccuum in the tank. |

It turned out to be bad plug wires. Thanks for all the help. |

Nice. At least it was cheap and easy. |
