I didn't think I was going that fast. Whenever someone asks me how fast it goes I show them. |

Don't let the cop see that page that pulls you over for speeding. |

Got pulled over in ID, put my thick gloves over the gps so the officer didn't see it. He may have noted my max speed of around 100mph. Still gave me a $75 gift. Tried to convince him that my speedo is in KPH and I was just "doubling the posted speed and adding 10" - didn't work. |

I got stopped,in a little town, 80 in a 25. The Deputy asked," what was the reason for the speed"? I told him, "because I didn't know you would be there". He laughed, and then I told him, it's a new bike, and it was feeling too good. He asked to see the odometer, (and there was just 1000 miles). He let me go with a warning, and said to slow it down. I really thought it was because he loved the Uly, and he understood it was the faster black model. LOL |

I once went to plaid. For those that don't know, that's faster than ludicrous speed. NUTS |

>>>>I can't get myself to reset, its to much fun to show people. I'm the same way . . . . I had both mine on a flight and they both display 612 MPH and I leave it there just for that special moment I get pulled over. |

My Garmin has the max speed hidden unless you pull up the log. I have already impressed upon my wife the need to remove any incriminating data from it "just in case" because the average LEO is getting more tech savvy and many are not above asking to see the (portable) gps if, for instance, you don't know how fast you were going. You'll have a hell of a time fighting it in front of a judge if your own electronics give you the finger....I mean confirm the LEO's means of checking your speed (or up the ante). Fortunately clearing the data is two button clicks away and can easily be done with your hands above the dash where they are visible before the LEO approaches the car...IF one was to exceed the speed limit and draw the unwanted attention of John Law I'm not advocating speeding or breaking other traffic laws, just saying that there is no reason in the world to leave incriminating evidence where it can easily cause you pain, suffering, and/or monetary loss, but bragging rights at the bench races are fun too |

Take a picture of it then delete it. Court, The Gulfstream only got up to 560. 612, was it a 727? |

Don't know how you managed that on a Ulysses. Best I could ever do was around 130mph. I guess if I pushed it off a cliff it might go that fast. Wonder what the terminal velocity of a Ulysses is? |

I have been well into the 140s-close to 150 indicated. Didn't have the garmin mounted at the time so I don't know what it really was. I do know it was freakin fast and still climbing tho. I don't know what my 7500 rev limit will max out in mph at, and I'm in no big hurry to find out. I think I would rather install the xb9 primary gears and some nice knobbies and live longer. |

Diablobrian, I have no worries about leaving my max speed on the GPS. Ain't no way it could be used against you, as long as you don't have the tracks also saved. What's to say that 107 max speed on my GPS isn't from a track day? |

Your kinda right SKI but, if the osifer was going to just give a warning and then saw the max speed I think it would cause him to change his mind and give you the ticket for what ever he pulled you over for. no? |

Know your rights. An officer cannot force you to show him your GPS top speed. Just turn the dang thing off or switch screens. In order for them to investigate your top speed, they'd need a warrant. I'm sure they could keep you parked on the road side until they obtained one, but by then, you could delete the top speed. A little law called "illegal search and seizure" is your friend. If an office did try to make you show him your GPS speed, just say "No", and if they give you a ticket, and you were in fact speeding, then you gotta pay the piper. If I speed, and I get caught. I just pay up. Shame on me. |
