Hi, Any one uses fork seal savers? I saw on Touratech some made with neoprene and you fit the on with Velcro. |

I have some on my supermoto.I use Gibbs penetrating oil on a rag to clean my fork tubes on the Uly.It keeps the corrosion down.I feel like pits from corrosion contributes to seal failure as well as hard landings & dirt |

When I first installed these with new seals 30K ago I didn't notice pitting burrs at the bottom of the right fork tube, blew the new seal in 4K. Buffed out the pits and now 25K with no problems and CLEAN forks! |

Hi Xbimmer, Can you put those on from the bottom or do they have to go down from the top? thanks |

Glenn, there is no way to put them from the bottom, as you have the pieces that hold the lower mudguard, and brake caliper. there is a velcro option. |

Can you put those on from the bottom or do they have to go down from the top? Theoretically you should be able to slide them down the outer fork tube, but you would probably have to remove the reflector. I installed them from the bottom, after fork disassembly when replacing the seals. Also, I used the larger size they sell (47mm?) since I didn't see how the 43mm would stretch around the outer tube. It was sold in a long version which I cut in half and fits the X fork snugly all the way to the bottom of the inner tube. In any case you have to remove the fork from the bike. Velcro types would be easier but maybe not as compliant. |

I recently installed the Long Sealsavers, 1 3/4 inch (44 - 50mm fork tube), by sliding them down from the top of the fork with the fork off the bike. They slid over the reflector easily and fit snugly over the exposed portion of the fork tube. I installed them because I went to the Firebolt fender which doesn't provide quite the same protection as the stock Uly setup. |
