I'm already sold on Conti Attack's , here's my question for those of you who have already had experience with the "Attack" series: "Road" or "Sport" Attacks ??? I like to ride spirited , and sometimes aggressive , and dont usually leave much of a "chicken strip" , but I also commute around 20+ miles each way . I want good mileage , but not by sacrificing me or my bike in the process . I havent done track days , and Im not so spirited that Im always pushing things to the limit , but if I see a sweeper or get the urge to drag my knee I want the confidence to do so > ( And I really am sorry for creating another tire thread ) (Message edited by thurstonbuell on February 19, 2009) | ||

I tried a set of the Road Attacks and liked them but, I only got about 5000-6000 miles out of them. I have a set of the Pilot Roads 2CT with 8,000 miles and it looks like I can easily get another 1,000 before they get "flat spotted". For this weight and horsepower bike, this is pretty darn good mileage (IMHO). I feel the Road Attacks and Pilot Road 2CT are about the same in the handling department. With a daily commute of 140 miles, I need something that will get the miles. I am also on TN 2-lane back roads during the commute and want a good grip while leaned over. I probably don't ride as aggressive as you but, I do my share. Hope this helps Neil S. | ||

The RoadAttack is plenty for the street. the Sport will probably go away pretty quickly. I've heard several people say good things about the Pilot Road's. I love the Conti's, but am going to try the pilots when I'm done with the stocker. Rob | ||

Metzeler Rennsports or for more sedate riding the M3 Sportecs, anything is better than the Pirelli OE fitment | ||

I've been using Dunlop Roadsmart tires on my FZ1 for highway commuting. They seem to last as long as most other sport touring rubber and offer decent traction. Dunlops are typically some of the less expensive tires, only beaten by Bridgestone usually. | ||

How strangely different opinions can be. I find the OEM Corsa IIIs to be the best tire I've tried. 95% dry - 5% wet, 20 dF - 103 dF D207, D208 - both sucked hard. M3 Sportec - much stickier, a little better mileage. Corsa III - very sticky, once warm... like steel rails when cold. Once warm, they are the stickiest yet and twice the mileage of the Dunflops. I guess what I need to know is..... Will the Road attack still allow me to drag a knee....... or Not a good idea ??? make the move upto sport attacks , the more I ponder lifes questions the more I think .....C3's??? | ||

I use Road Attacks on all my Buells because they are cheap. I can also get 2.5k miles out of them whereas I was only getting sub 2k on the Pirellis. The R/A are also good on the track, if you get overtaken, it isn't the tyres fault. They heat up quickly and are good in the wet too. | ||

They stuck like crazy at street PSI and I was able to turn middle of the pack intermediate times. They were also good in the wet. I recall getting around 5000 miles out of them on the street. | ||

Will the Road attack still allow me to drag a knee....... Absolutely. IMO...At (aggressive) street operating temps the Road Attack is superior to the Street Attack. The Street has SLIGHTLY more grip and lasts half as long. | ||

I ran a Conti Road Attack rear/ Sport Attack front combo on my XB12R and liked that set up a lot. I recently had done some track days on Pilot Power 2ct's on the 1125R and those handle superb, but I'm sure the mileage won't be there. Pilot Road 2's just went on the XB and will soon go on the 25R and my initial reaction is favorable handling, and people like Neil say great mileage, so what's not to like. | ||

This is what I have experienced so far. Sport attacks 2700 miles. Road attacks 6700 miles. Pilot Roads 9000 miles. Out of the three the Road Attacks were my favorite for mixed commuting and aggressive riding. | ||

I run road attacks on my Uly. I've never had the tires slip. I'm not the most aggressive rider, but I've touched down the pegs on occasion. They are the longest lasting tire I've tried. | ||

The Corsa III it a super nice tire but to me when a little worn,they were a little slick, Now I have Michelin Pilot power 2ct dual-compound. they seem to work will I went to a track day and still was able to drag a knee and felt dam good |
