So, its been since September since my bike has been started. I didn't add stabilizer. So, I drained the fuel out of the tank completely...I assume the carb is gummed up. So, I pulled the carb apart, just to understand it, as I have a Mikuni to put on yet (though I don't know what jets to use, lol). Anyhow, What could be the culprit? It turns over, but wouldn't fire, even when spraying carb cleaner directly in the carb... I have not a clue |

Have you checked your plugs and wires? Checked to see if you're getting spark from your plugs? That's where I would start and backtrack from there. If it's turning over I'd check the plugs, make sure they're clean and all and maybe add a shot of starting fluid. If that don't work make sure you have spark. |

Pull a sparkplug and ground the threads against the head or rockerbox and crank the motor over. Best to use a known good plug. |

make sure you lay the plug on the head and do not hold the wire when u crank it. even a dirt bike with a magneto can zap the @#%$ out of you! |

Kinda OT but funny story none the same. Was seeing a girl in college and her roommate's car broke down. Long story short we get it to a back street Russian mechanic. Father and two sons work the place, one of the sons sticks a screwdriver into a plug wire and the other brother cranks the motor. They check all four plug wires and father is explaining to the roommate what they are going to do. While this is going on Ivan can't take his eyes off of the roommate and still has the screwdriver in the plug wire but has put his hand on the metal part of the screwdriver when brother cranks over the motor again. I thought I would die. We all laughed our butts off while Ivan pulled himself off the garage floor. He got embarrassed and went to the office. On second thought, call Ivan, he can help you. |

Oh, about your problem. Just take a spring clamp and clamp it to something that will hold the spark plug close to the rocker box. |
