I just came from the same show. There was a Buell engineer there to answer questions. He gave me a perfect solution for replacing the front turn signals on the 1125R. The guy was enthused about the Buells and really enjoyed talking with the riders. I spent about 20 minutes picking his brain. My hat goes off to Buell. They really do care about their products. |

The fairing in the top three photos changes the pods from being "distracting" to very well-incorporated. It also makes the front fairing look much better proportioned, and (thankfully) covers the exhaust. I am really digging that look... hats off to the designer. Did they mention if there will be a street version of this fairing? (Message edited by redbuelljunkie on January 31, 2009) |

Adoogie3, Yes, it was a short older guy with a goatee. He was really nice and gave me a t shirt as well. I didn't care about the shirt. I was busy picking his brain. I would love to contact the Buell factory and thank them for that opportunity. How many other manufacturers would send an engineer out to shows like that to answer our questions? The majority of Harley employees working in the showroom can't even tell you what Buell models are available let alone answer any questions. |

>>>>How many other manufacturers would send an engineer out to shows like that to answer our questions? Buell has, since 1998, always staffed the shows with a couple folks from the factory. Folks get the chance to sign up and they love doing that. Prior to 1998 they hired a construction worker from Kansas to go to all the shows.

Some race parts are in the .pdf catalog. Parts not in there, go through your dealer to contact Buell Racing on your behalf for pricing/availability. If you find something you really want to buy, work through your dealer. |

Many of them are in design and testing. There are some that are developed and that have proven amazing but will require further development to get within the price that real racers could buy them. One thing is certain there is much potential in the 1125R. I'd be looking for more stuff as budgets start to loosen up. I don't know, but given the current economy, I'd guess that lots of race development has been severely curtailed. It's a smart move but I'm eager to see some of this stuff getting into the hands of racers. |

I was one of the lucky local dealer people to staff the show with the factory Buell guys. Those guys were great. I saw them talk to people and they were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and really represented what Buell is all about. Great guys, great bikes, great company! I loved the fairing on the R. It looks like the top fairing could be a little different than the stock fairing. (I was trying to see if the sides and belly pan could be adapted to the stock fairing. Thanks again to Buell!!! |

I was at the IMS show Friday night and spent quite a bit of time talking to the Buell folks. There was a fellow from the Buell IT group, an engineer (Scot) and another fellow who assembles the front ends on the 1125. I also talked to the Buell service manager from one of NE Ohio Dealers. Buell is to be commended for having knowledgeable people work the display booth. Did anyone else notice how the seat height is adjustable on the RC8? The seat section pivots in the front and there are multiple mounting holes on the support brackets. I thought this was an interesting design feature. Overall I thought the show was smaller than the past two years. Spending time talking about Buells made the trip worthwhile. |
