JT, like I said in another post, did mine last month. I did it for WERA. First take a look at this tutorial on safety wiring at Sport Rider if you have not seen it before. Also, I ended up buying all the 1/16" Dewalt Cobalt drills at two Lowe's. You'll go through a few. BTW I tried a lot of other drills and these gave me the best results. For the front brake I took one bolt out at a time, put it in the drill press. It was pretty straight forward. If this doesn't help let me know I can take pictures. Do you have to do pinch bolts as well as axles? I did. For both axles I marked the spot for the wire hole, took them out, beveled the lip of the axle at about 45 degrees, stuck it in the drill press vice so the flat side of the bevel was up and drilled it. The bevel edge makes it a lot easier to get the wire in when the axles are installed. The front pinch bolts are easy. The rear one is a bish. So I just drilled it about mid-shaft where I could see the hole when it was installed. There's no way I'm going to get a wire into that recessed head. Do you have to do rear pipe mounts too. That was another bish. All the other wire points were pretty straight forward. Let me know what I can do to help. I got laid off last week so I'm enjoying my time and will be around. | ||

Forgot to mention that I use the 9" safety wire tool from Harbor Freight. It works great, a lot better than the 6", and looks just like the one from Snap On. | ||
