Country... There is a difference. An acronym can be a pronounceable "word". A word formed from the initial letters of a name, such as WAC for Women's Army Corps, or by combining initial letters or parts of a series of words, such as radar for radio detecting and ranging. (and we all know what radar is, and hope we are a small enough target to not reflect a signal) amf... is not an acronym adios mother f***er whereas... fubar (foo bar)... is f***ed up beyond all repair both terms frequently used by bike riders... and AMF being different from amf. One leaked oil and had a miss in the ignition system when ever it was ridden past a bowling alley... whereas the other is a non-salutational statement upon exiting a group of squids. Or what was said at a bike shop after trading in an AMF... as you did a burn out on your new ride... yelling amf! Happy because you had a new ride after dumping your fubar AMF! |
