Is there a easy way to get the stock bar ends off without totally screwing them up?

Thanks

Patience + Hair Dryer

Or VERY gently use pliers and something to cover the jaws to keep from marring them.

I kinda thought that might be the only trick. Just wanted to check with someone else.

Thanks again!!

Removing the bars from the tree isn't that big of a deal and can be done without fouling up cables and hydraulics. As I recall it's a single fastener on the inside ends, and the bars are keyed to prevent screwing up a re-install. (I'm going from memory...always dangerous!!) Then use a long rod through the bar to pop the bar ends out. No damage to the external surfaces, assuming that's the goal. Otherwise a pair of locking pliers would work.

The part number is N0010.02A8.
They cost 2.50 for a set.

Certainly not worth the time/trouble to take the bars off.

My 2¢

Didn't think they would be a terrible loss. I'm cheap so I thought I'd try and get them off without destroying them, just in case I need (or want) to return it to stock.
Thanks guys for your help. We'll see how much patience I have tomorrow.
