HA! told you the drummer kicked ash! let me know how you like the bar ends, been thinking of doing that just worried about making the bike wider for lane splitting.

Are you gonna be running the mirrors off an adapter or just on some extra room at the end of the bars? When i did mine i just left about 1/4 an inch of bare handlebar past the grips and mounted mine up to that

The black end caps come off. They're pretty tight - I remember using a set of channelocks and prying them out of the bar ends. Just get a good grip on them with pliers and yank them out of there and problem solved.

Adaptors go at the very end of the grips, at least the ones for my CRG's. They clamp inside of the bars. They only stick out about 1/4 of an inch.

Boney, you can use the adapters or you can just leave that 1/4 inch from the end of the bars and mount them straight to the bars. No adapter to worry about

Boney, the mirrors only stick out 1/4 inch? as in it would only make my bike a 1/2 inch wider?

The adapters only stick out about 1/4'. Your mirrors will stick out even further. Some further than others, depends what brand you buy. The CRG Lanesplitters can fold in if your worried about storage or traffic.

third eyes don't use an adapter. CRG's clamp to the bars, 3rd eyes go inside the bars.

Just cut a hole in the end of yours grips the same size as the inside of your handlebars. slide the 3rd eyes inside and twist to tighten. as they tighten the rubber pieces expand so they stay inside your handlebars.

btw good choice with the 3rd eyes.. every bit as functional as crg's and if anyone says they don't look as good just think about how good the $150 you saved looks.

Pete-the stock bar ends are like plugs, you just pull them out with pliers. At least on the 08s.

thanks man. mine is a CityX so it had adapters for the handguards. i pulled them out and screwed the mirrors in. i also trimmed a little off the throttle grip so it didn't catch on the mirror

I love my 3rd Eye mirrors. I was going to go with a more expensive set like CRGs, but thought if I didnt like them, Id have put out a bunch of cash and have to take a hit when I sold them.
So I bought the 3rd Eye. Love em, and theres no reason , for me anyway, to spend more money on anything else

They cost $12 a pair at most bicycle shops, so they're worth trying even if you end up hating them.

I use the 3rdEyes too. They work well, the rubber mounts take out most vibration.
They are cheap plastic but the upside to that is, if you drop the bike whether in the driveway or on the road you won't care when they break.
